Obituary: William Joseph "Bill" Spencer, 82, died peacefully, at home, on 10, 2014. Surrounded by family his brief but valiant battle against lung cancer came to an end. Bill was born to Lula Mae Temple on 6, 1932 and raised in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country for 27 years as a Flight Engineer, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. On 3, 1955 he married the love of his life, Jo Danielson. Together they shared the life of a military family, moving across the country from Hawaii to Alaska. Bill's final assignment was to Dyess AFB where he was stationed in 1973. He retired from the Air Force and together with his family decided to call Abilene home. He was loved and admired by many in the Abilene community. Bill was a prolific giver, serving on multiple boards and participating in many service organizations. He was a long time member and Elder of First Central Presbyterian Church, where services will be held at 1pm 16th with visitation in the church parlor 15th 6-7:30pm. Throughout his life he was a constant inspiration to his family who will cherish his memory. Bill is survived by his wife, Jo, his daughter Kimberlee Spencer Rufca, husband, Richard Rufca and grandson Matthew Spencer Rufca. His daughter, Lou Spencer. His son, Eric William Spencer, wife Tina Spencer, granddaughter Sydney Drew Spencer and grandson Jackson William Spencer. We would like to thank Hendrick Hospice and Jennie Edward (care giver). Obituary: Wayne E. Spencer, age 89 was peacefully called home 25, 2016. He was born on 29, 1927 to Walter and Madeline Spencer. While serving in the Navy during WWII, he was stationed in Corpus Christi and decided to make it his home. He was a master draftsman and engineer and helped to build many buildings, schools and businesses throughout the Coastal Bend until his retirement last year. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Madeline and son Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Nita, daughters Charlotte Miller, Angela (Johnny) Whitehurst, Shannon (Dan) Schumann, daughter-in-law, Jody Spencer, son, Shawn Caldwell, grandchildren, Lisa Ashby, Matt Miller, Robin Spencer, Catie Miller, Marc (Lyndy) Russell, Ryan (Becca) Schumann, Carisa Whitehurst, Randy Schumann and Nick Whitehurst and great-grandchildren, Ellie Ashby, Christopher Cole and Harper Rae. Wayne always wore a smile on his face and would always share a joke. He loved to fish and hunt and taught all his children how to enjoy the outdoors. He also loved to country western dance and danced up until recently. Visitation will be held on , 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Seaside Chapel with a Service to follow. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans . |

Obituary: Virginia Spencer, 84, passed away on 18, 2016, and was surrounded by her family who loved her very much. She was born on 13, 1931 to Lawrence Edward and Mamie Canzada Robertson in Cherry Valley, AR. When Virginia was young, she and her siblings lost both their parents. She and her older sister Veda took care of the other four siblings. were more like parents to their siblings, than sisters. Their Daddy had a friend who built them a house, and Veda and Virginia did everything they could to keep the family together. She was one of the sweetest women in the world. Virginia would, and has, given the shirt off her back to people in need. One of her favorite things to do was sing and play music. She was a great guitar player, singer, and song writer. Family and friends would come join her every night at her home, to play their instruments and sing songs. She read the Bible through seven times and was the family’s go to person when they had questions about the Bible, because of her knowledge. She was a strong Christian woman, who loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Virginia was a beloved Sister, Mother, Grandma, Granny and Aunt. Those who have preceded her in death are her parents, husband Charles Spencer, son Ronald David Tyner, and brother Edward Lafyette Robertson. Those left to cherish her memory are: children Diane Mitchell and husband Richard, Rickey Tyner and wife Kathryn and Randy Tyner; siblings Veda Catlett, Juanita Manley, Wanda Beeson and husband Kent and Maxine Robbins and husband Charles; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, who will all miss her dearly. The family will celebrate Virginia’s life on , 22, 2016, in the chapel of Anderson-Clayton Bros. , Terrell, TX, at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on , 21, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interment will follow the services at Hillcrest in Forney, TX.
