Obituary: Hugh Roland Spencer passed away on 7, 2016 in Carrollton, TX at the age of 90. Hugh was born on 21, 1925 in Roanoke, VA to Edith and Alfred Spencer. Hugh is survived by his daughter, Laura Love and husband Ken of Spring, TX, and son, Kevin Spencer and wife, Dee Ann of Carrollton, TX, grandchildren, Nick Roppolo and wife, Angie of St. Louis, MO, Jason Roppolo and wife, Mary of Spring, TX, Kyle Spencer of Fayetteville, AR, and Courtney Spencer of Carrollton, TX, great grandchildren, Marissa, A.J., Jacen, & Ivan Roppolo of St. Louis, MO, Della Roppolo and Hayden Warner-Roppolo of Spring, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 59 ½ years, Della Mae Griffith-Spencer, and son, David Alfred Spencer. Hugh joined the Navy and was stationed in Conroe, TX, where he met and married Della Mae Griffith on 13, 1945. He graduated from Virginia Southern in 1949 with a degree in Accounting. He went to work for Superior Oil in Houston as an accountant. He retired in 1984 after 38 years of service. Hugh and Della attended Conroe Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon. He was well loved by his family and was known as Dad, Daddy, Pops, Gandy, and PaPa. He answered to them all. Graveside services will be held , 10, 2016 at 12:30pm in Garden Park (801 Teas Rd Conroe, Texas 77303) with Pastor Steve Yates officiating. The family would like to thank caregivers at Brookhaven and hospital staff for their love and dedication. Obituary: On 30, 2014, Holly Amanda Nash Spencer passed after a long battle with cancer. Hollys love and drive to serve seemed boundless. Her passions and joys included helping steer her familys lives, traveling, and volunteering for others. Holly was involved in St Paul United Methodist Church, The National for Childrens Illustrated Literature, and various boards and support efforts. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include husband David Spencer, daughter Sarah, son Grant, parents Doyle and Iris Nash, all of Abilene. Her sister Amy Gillespie and daughters Molly and Sadie; brothers Tim Nash and sons Harrison and Julian; Jon and Madeline Nash and son Robert, all of Austin. A memorial service will be held , 6 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 525 Beech St. Friends are invited to visit with the family , 5, from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. at 1226 Albany St. Please make any donations to St Paul United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. |
