Obituary: Barry Specion, 73, passed away on , 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born on 20, 1939 in New York City, New York to Nicholas Specion and Eva Bobbie Rossman Specion. He retired from the United States Air Force and the United States Postal Service. Barry enjoyed music, cars, swimming, shrimp po boys, tool tinkering, new technologies, and betting against his nephew John on football games. In earlier years, he also enjoyed fishing, racquetball, and golfing. He was very proud of receiving Yard of the Month several times from his neighborhood. Barry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Specion. He is survived by his loving wife, Heide Specion; daughter, Nicole Messenger and husband, Michael; sister-in-law, Bette Specion; granddaughters, Heather and Kristen; great-granddaughters, Brooke, Taylor, Rilynn, and Payton; nephews, Richard Specion, Jr. and wife, Jill and John Specion; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends. A Celebration of Barrys life will be held from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., , 27, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks . Obituary: Adolph John A.J. Specia age 81 of San Antonio, born 28, 1921 died , 25, 2003. He graduated second in his class from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1939 and graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 1943 as a Civil Engineer. While at A&M he was a member of the Ross Volunteers, and the Corps of Cadets. He graduated first in his class from OCS Officers Candidate School as a Second Lieutenant when entering the U.S. Army during WWII. A.J. was a Registered Professional Engineer and he started two Boy Scout Troops. He married the love of his life, Agnes T. Constantine Teddie on 1st, 1944 in El Paso, Texas while stationed at Fort Bliss. met during a wedding when he played the Violin for the service. He was a member of ÂThe Great Generation of the World War II era. WWII, A.J. came back to San Antonio and started a Building business and went on to build over 1, 400 building projects during his career. He also maintained a portfolio of rental properties and home loans along with his building business. He was a Charter Member and Member of the Board of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was an active member and past Grand Commander of the Order of the Alhambra as well as a past President of the San Antonio A&M Club. He spent 32 years in the Army, National Guard and Army Reserve retiring as a Full Colonel. While in the National Guard he was a Assistant Adjutant General of the State of Texas. While in the Army Reserve he commanded units in New Braunfels, San Marcos and New Orleans. He was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, The American Legion, Reserve Officers Association, The National Society of Professional Engineers, The Century Club of Texas A&M, The BusinessmenÂs Dinner Club and The ÂKÂ Club. A.J. loved hunting and working his ranch with his friends and family as well as spending time at Lake McQueeney. Above all else, A.J.Âs number one priority in life was the welfare of his family. His survivors are his wife of 59 years, Teddie; his children and their families, Adolph John Specia, Jr. his wife Anna Rubiola Specia and their children Michelle Ann Specia and Adolph John Specia, III; Cynthia Specia Shade, her husband Vernon Ronnie Shade and their children Alethea Estelle Shade and Charles Ronnie Shade; and Richard Adolph Specia and his family Carol Case, Andrinna Kane, Paul Kane and Andrinna Olivia Kane. |

Obituary: William us (Bill) Speary, Sr. was born to Wilhelmina and Speary in San Antonio on 1, 1923, and died at his home in The Woodlands surrounded by his family on May 10th, 2017. Bill grew up in Runge where he graduated from Runge High School in 1940. Bill then enrolled in the University of Texas in Austin. At UT, he met his first wife, Ida Mae Madeley. His education was interrupted by his service to his country in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He received a BS in Business Administration from Sull Ross State University (1947) and an MBA from the University of Houston (1958). From 1951 until his retirement in 1992, Bill taught business courses on both the high school and college level. From 1960 until 1992, he was on the faculty of the University of Houston, where he taught courses in retail marketing and management offered by the of Business Technology. While at the U of H, Bill became the ex-officio assistant to the Cougars golf coach Dave Williams and served as the players academic counselor. He helped to run the U of Hs annual All-America Invitational Golf Tournament. An avid amateur golfer himself, Bill shot his age 6 times. Enlisting in 1942, Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps, both in the ready reserves and on active duty, until his retirement in 1983 with the rank of Colonel. In WW II, he served as part of combat support during the invasion of Saipan and the occupation of Japan after their surrender. He also served in the occupation of the Korean DMZ at the end of hostilities in the Korean Conflict. Ida predeceased Bill in 1999. He is survived by his third wife, Olive Lee (Hackler) Speary. He is also survived by his three sons from his first marriage, William us Gus Speary, Jr. and wife Faye of Vincent, AL; John Madeley Speary and wife Rosalie of Albuquerque, NM; and Meyer McCaleb Cabe Speary and wife Linda of Edenton, NC and 3 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church of The Woodlands, 3901 Panther Creek, The Woodlands on , May 13th at 2:00 PM followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. The funeral service and interment will occur on , May 15th at 10 AM at Forest Park Lawndale , 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice. |
