Obituary: Ena Louis McWilliams Spalding was born 13, 1926 to Robert P. and Freddie McWilliams in Henderson, Texas. She passed away peacefully to be with her Savior and Shepherd on , 4, 2016 at the age of 90. Ena graduated from Gaston High School in Joinerville, Texas. graduating from high school Ena attended Texas Womans University in Denton Texas. where she graduated with a degree in Economics. Ena went on to attend North Texas State University in Denton where she completed her masters degree. It was during this time that she met her future husband Dan Wesley Spalding. For over 30 years Dan and Ena made their home in Portales, New Mexico teaching and giving many years to students through education. Ena taught 3rd grade for many years in the Portales School System. In 1990, Dan and Ena retired and moved to Midland, Texas. Ena loved the Lord Jesus Christ and gave her life in service to Him and her family. She was a loving, patient and kind wife and Mother and was always available with her time. She had a heart for others and wanted to share Jesus with them. She was always ready with a smile and a hug. She was an encourager, empathetic, put others before herself and always had a kind and forgiving heart. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ and taught bible class for many years. Ena was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband of 51 years Dan Wesley Spalding; son Joe Brian Spalding; sisters Carolyn Hill and Sue Schmidt; brothers Jim McWilliams and Buddy McWilliams. Ena is survived by her sister Helen Tisdale; son Eric Spalding and wife Linda of Kingwood, Texas; daughter Jill Spalding Allen and husband Larry of Andrews, Texas; daughter in law Barbara Spalding of Roswell, New Mexico; grandchildren Sheryl Spalding McCool, Christopher Spalding and wife Amy, Mark Spalding, Robert Spalding and wife Andrea, Jerod Spalding, Staci Spalding Teitelbaum and husband Austin, Lindsey Allen Chesser and husband Brandon, Cassey Allen Lemon and husband Kyle; and eleven great grandchildren Mark McCool, Samuel Spalding, Jack Spalding, Maggie Spalding, Lilly Spalding, Emily Spalding, Cori Teitelbaum, Allison Chesser, Natalie Chesser, Presley Chesser and Eliza Lemon. Obituary: SPALDING Clem Hill Spalding, Sr., beloved husband of Emma R. Spalding and cherished father of his eight children, went to join his Savior, Jesus Christ, on 17, 2012. He was born on 24, 1924, in Lebanon, Kentucky, to Wallace Hugh and Nell Hill Spalding, descendants of the founding Catholic families of Marion , KY. Dad was a proud graduate of St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Class of 42. He was truly of the greatest generation, joining the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought in Europe and was on a troop ship bound for the Pacific front when the war ended. He came to San Antonio in 1946 and graduated magna cum laude from St. Marys University in 1948. He met the love of his life, Emma Rivas, in San Antonio and they married in 1948. Dad was an insurance adjuster in KY and, in 1954, he moved his young family to San Antonio, where he became an insurance underwriter, retiring from USAA in 1986 as Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs. He was active in many professional organizations, serving as Chair of the National Industry Committee on Auto Insurance Plans. He received the Raymond Mauk Leadership Award from the Insurance Council of Texas. Dearest to his heart was service to the Church. He was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in 1957, and active in the following societies: Legion of Mary, Holy Name, Nocturnal Adoration, Knights of the Altar, St. Ritas Family Guild, St. Vincent de Paul, and Knights of Columbus. Dad was a Scoutmaster and served as president of the Blessed Sacrament PTC, the School Board, and the Parish Council. He was the building chairman for the parishs Family , a Eucharistic Minister, and an Oblate Associate. In addition to his beloved wife of 64 years, he is survived by his children Kitty Spalding (Tom Spieczny), Ann Towns (René), Mary Spalding, Judy Spalding, Theresa Spalding-Hoffman (John), Clem Spalding, Jr., Bill Spalding (Katy), and Nell Hernandez (Ernest). He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dad was preceded in death by his infant son Joseph, his sister Nell Newton, and brothers Wally, Pick, and Jack. Mrs. Spak was born 12, 1927 in Victoria, Texas to the late John Slavik, Jr. and Rosalie Broz Slavik. She married Michael Andrew Spak in 1944. Obituary: ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- William E. Spain, 90, passed away , Dec. 31, 2010. Graveside service: 10: a.m. , Jan. 7, at Dallas-Fort Worth National . Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials: His memory may be honored with a gift to Moslah Shrine Hospital Fund, P.O. Box 1320, Fort Worth, Texas 76101. William was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Newton, Kan., to Ray T. Spain and his wife, Ruby. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Nov. 25, 1940, serving until Aug. 27, 1943. During World War II, he was a warrant officer in North Africa. Upon graduation from the New England of Optometry as class valedictorian, he practiced his trade for 55 years. Dr. Spain had a practice in downtown Arlington from 1956 to 1982, and later had a long association as an optometrist with Pearle Vision until his retirement in 2003. Dr. Spain married Helen Kaczynski in 1942 in Worcester, Mass. his wifes death in 1978, he was married to Louise Black for 19 years until she died in 1998. He was a Shriner and a longtime member of Masonic Lodge 438, receiving a 50-year pin in 2001. He was also an accomplished clarinetist and played in both the Moslah Shrine Band and Greater Fort Worth-Dallas Lions Club Band. He was a past president of both bands. While with the Lions Club Band, Dr. Spain performed at Dallas Cowboys football games from 1960 until the mid-1970s. He loved to travel, and took numerous cruises. At the age of 83 he took a solo trip around the world, flying stand-by on each leg of the journey, without missing one flight. Dr. Spain previously attended Mansfield Church of Christ. Survivors: Sons, Ron of Arlington, and Gary and wife, Sharon, of Arlington; stepsons, Chris Black and wife, Sandy, Timothy Black and Jim Ward; sister, Maxine Hill of Missouri; grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Lee, Erin, Brandon, Jesse, Heid, and Kendall; great grandchildren, Sophie and Logan; nephew, Don Robbins; and nieces, Suzie Hill and Ruth Williams.
