Obituary: Charles E. Spain Sr. born 9th 1932 entered eternal rest on 6th 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. He is survived by his wife (Ruth), 2 sons (Charles Jr. & James D.) their wives, and 6 grandchildren. Charles, known to most by Charlie, was a tender-hearted, hard-working, Christian man with generosity that surpassed all. He proudly served our country for 26 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant, followed by a 15 year career working in Information Systems at USAA. Charlies interests included: golfing, bowling, baseball, traveling, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Alzheimers Association under the team name Charlies Angels to fund research and the Texas Wounded Warriors Foundation to honor those who served. The procession will leave Sunset on , Feb. 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM for the graveside service with military honors at Ft. Sam Houston National at 10:30 AM. Obituary: Cecil was born 12, 1935 in Georgetown, Texas, and was baptized in the Church of Christ in 1945. He lived a wonderful life, and he died at 80 years of age on 26, 2016. He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1954, having earned letters in baseball, track, and football all four years. He attended McMurray in Abilene, Texas on a full scholarship as an athletic trainer, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1958. He was married to Anita Mashburn Spain from 1958 to 1986. Cecil taught high school mathematics in Denver City, Texas and earned his Master of Arts degree attending the University of South Carolina during the summers on scholarship from the National Science Foundation. He also officiated high school football and basketball games in West Texas for several years. He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserve from 1954 to 1960. He worked for Steck-Vaughn Publishing in Austin, TX for more than 20 years as an Editor, Sales Manager, and President. He then also worked for Graphic Learning in Boulder, CO, and for Continental Press in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, before retiring in Littleton, Colorado. He married Elise Durham in 1987, and they moved to Plano in 2006. He was a member of the Richardson East Church of Christ. Cecils brother, Dwight Spain, lives in Plano with his wife Jean. have two married children and two grandchildren. Cecils brother, Reford, passed away in 1991, and is survived by three daughters, four granddaughters, and one great grandson in New York State. Cecils sister, Rowena, passed away in 2004, and is survived by two grandchildren and six great grandchildren in Austin, Texas. Cecil loved traveling to the national parks, especially in the Rocky Mountains, but he also took trips all around the US and to Canada, Mexico, Europe, and South Africa. In recent years, he enjoyed playing 42 at the Plano Senior with the friends he made there. He liked listening to Frank Sinatra sing. And he loved his family who all gathered to help him celebrate his 80th birthday just one month ago. Cecil was an intelligent, gentle, kind, generous, and fun loving husband, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. |

Obituary: James Jim Spahr, 76, passed into the open arms of his loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 28, 2014 in Houston Texas. He was born in Millersburg, Ohio 23, 1938. His family moved to Barberton, Ohio early in his life. Jim attended Barberton and Norton High Schools. He graduated from Norton High School class of 1957. Jim was a founding member of the Grace Brethren Church in Norton, Ohio, and became a Deacon, choir director and was very active in the church. Jim was a US Army veteran serving in Active Duty and Reserves from 1962 to 1968. He attended Akron University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1968. Jim moved to Houston Texas in 1972. He joined The Anderson Greenwood in 1977, where he became Manager of Engineering. He retired from Anderson Greenwood/Tyco in 2005. He was a member of several organizations and societies and received many awards and recognition for his service. Jim and his wife Marilyn loved to dance and travel. Their adventures took them to many countries throughout Europe. Jim was an avid antique collector. He served as president of the local chapter Coca-Cola club and also president of the local chapter of the M.I. Hummel club. Proceeded in death by his parents Bob and Virginia Spahr. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Marilyn. Seven children, Charles Lewis Jr., Janet (Frank) Marroquin, Kathi Brown, Karen Lewis, Tim (Diana) Spahr, Mary Beth (Tito) Selosse, Teri (Brian) Feller. One brother Robert (Marcia) Spahr, one sister Carolyn (Ron) Tompkins. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff of St. Catherines LTAC. The doctors and staff at Methodist West Hospital, and Houston Hospice.
