Obituary: Clifford Cliff Dale Smith passed away 4, 2015 peacefully from natural causes at his deer lease near Huntsville, Texas. Cliff was 53 years old.
Cliff Smith was born 18, 1961 in Houston, Texas. He was the fourth and youngest child of Louise and Ernie Winfred Smith.
At an early age Cliff moved with his family to the countryside 12 miles from Conroe, Texas. Here he roamed the woods with his 2 older brothers and an older sister. Although he was a good student, he loved to be outdoors in nature. He became an avid fisherman and hunter. The rest of his life, if he was not hunting or fishing, he was thinking about his next trip to the great outdoors. He became good working with his hands and later in life he would craft his own bows and arrows and knives.
graduation from Conroe High School in 1980 he attended Texas State Technical in Waco, Texas where he refined his welding skills. While working at his chosen profession it became apparent to his employers that he could do any type of welding with skill and precision. Soon he was given the most difficult of jobs and then was supervising other welders. He easily understood the small details of a job and on a large scale how everything worked as a whole. Cliff began working on the mechanical side with large cranes used in the oil industry. Later as he learned more and more he became heavily involved in hydraulics. He found himself using his hands less and less. He became a respected manager and a go to person for customers of the companies he worked for. This led to him traveling to places like Nigeria and Curacao to solve problems for his company.
Cliffs nephew, Ricky Smith, became like a brother to him and the two of them where often involved in outdoor adventures and misadventures. were in constant contact with each other. At family gatherings they were always a source of laughter.
In 1983 Cliff met the love of his life ll Ward. A smart man, he proposed marriage and she accepted. Cliff and ll became husband and wife 20, 1984. made their home in Magnolia, Texas. would have two children Keslie and Ty. Cliff was very proud of both his children and loved them dearly. ll and Cliff had an interest in livestock and later Cliff would be involved with Ty raising show lambs with the Magnolia 4-H Club. Through almost 31 glorious years of marriage Cliff and ll were more than husband and wife, they were best friends.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Ernie Smith, and his daughter, Keslie Smith.
Cliff is survived by his wife, ll, son, Ty Smith, brothers, Richard and James Smith and their families, sister, Anna Fannistel, nephew, Ricky Smith and his family, and a host of cousins and their families.
