Obituary: Jeannette Cecilia Wakely Sitterle, devoted wife and mother, passed away on 10, 2002, after a courageous two year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Sitterle for nearly 50 years. Jeannette was born May 6, 1931 in Santiago, Chile to Thomas and Bernadette Wakely and moved to San Antonio after the death of her father. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School and attended The University of Texas where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She also attended Louisiana State University and Maryknoll. She married Arthur S. Sitterle in 1952 and served as an officer and active participant in their business, Comet Neon Sign . Nothing brought her more pleasure than spending time with her family and friends at their hill country ranch near Wimberley, Texas. She was a member of St. FerndinandÂs Catholic Church in Blanco, Texas and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles in San Antonio. Deeply loved by all those who knew her, her positive attitude and personality were attributed to her deep love of God and her family. Jeannette was predeceased by her son-in-law, Louie Schreiner. She is survived by her husband, Arthur, and their children: Dr. Karen Sitterle, Sharon Straus and her husband, Steve; Lorie Oliver and her husband, Bill; Chrisie Schreiner; and Pete Sitterle and wife, Andrea. She was affectionately known as ÂGrandma Net by her eleven grandchildren: Selia, Steven and Alyse Straus; Elizabeth, Ashley and Will Oliver; Griffin, Bobby Lee and Luke Schreiner; and Suzannah and Peter Sitterle. Obituary: SITTERLE Arthur Sylvan Sitterle, Jr., devoted husband and father, passed away on May 10, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Arthur was born on 28, 1924 in Houston, Texas to Arthur and Cary Sitterle. He graduated from St. Anne Catholic School in Beaumont, Texas. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1943 at the age of 18, and was a bombardier in the Asiatic-Pacific campaign during World War II. He graduated from St. MaryÂs University in San Antonio, where he played baseball for the St. MaryÂs University Rattlers. He married Jeannette Wakely Sitterle in 1952. He was active in the community and served as Director and Vice-President of the San Antonio Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of the Boys Club of San Antonio, and was a candidate for the Texas State House of Representatives. He founded Comet Neon Sign in San Antonio in 1959 and served as President and Chairman of the Board until his death. He was involved in the formation of the Texas Sign Association and served two terms as President in 1966 and 1976. Arthur was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette and his son-in law, Louie Schreiner. He is survived by his children, Dr. Karen Sitterle Udashen and her husband, Robert; Sharon Straus; Lorie Oliver and her husband, Bill; Chrisie Schreiner; and Pete Sitterle and wife, Andrea. He was affectionately known as ÂGrandpa Art by his eleven grandchildren; Selia, Steven and Alyse Straus; Elizabeth, Ashley and Will Oliver; Griffin, Bobby Lee, and Luke Schreiner; and Suzannah and Peter Sitterle. ÂOssie is also survived by his sisters, Jeanne Hicks, Bess Lochte, and Sissy Gainey and her husband, Perry and numerous nieces and nephews. Nothing brought him more pleasure than spending time with his family and friends at his Hill Country ranch near Wimberley, Texas. His favorite pastimes included traveling with his wife, gourmet cooking, and fine dining. His family and friends will especially miss his Christmas spirit and love of the traditions of the holiday season. He was a member of St. FerdinandÂs Catholic Church in Blanco, Texas and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church in San Antonio. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lon Smith and his staff, the nursing staff at Ten South at Methodist Hospital, and his caregiver, Vanessa Quiroga. |

Obituary: Paul Sitkiewitz was born on May 23, 1933 in Chicago. He lived a rich, full life and his sense of humor and gift of storytelling brought him close to so many. Pauls first love was always music. He played chord harmonica as a young man and even appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show with the Harmonocats. From 1951 to 1953, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved his work and spent many years with the Association of Western Railways, Rand McNally , and Magnetic Ticket and Label. Through these organizations he made many lifelong friendships. Family was always important to Paul. He loved spending time talking and laughing and sharing stories. Paul passed quietly with loved ones at his side on 2, 2012. Obituary: Deanna Kay Sitchler (Spann), age 55, passed away in Baytown, TX on , 26, 2016. She was born to the late Doris Elaine Bertrand and Donald Spann on 17, 1960. Dee, as everyone knew her, grew up in the Houston area and only left for the occasional vacation. She was blessed with a son at an early age; so from the time she was old enough to drive or work she was always taking care of someone. She provided a stable and nurturing life for her son, and as he grew and began his own life, she focused her efforts on caring for the rest of the family. Dee provided love, friendship, and companionship to her grandmother, mother, and mother-in-law through their battles with ailments and old age keeping them comfortable and surrounded by loved ones through their final days. Outside of caring for family and friends, Dee loved spending time with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. She also has always had cats to keep her company, and they were certainly spoiled in return. Most of all, Dee loved her husband, James. He stuck by her side through a long battle with Diabetes and numerous other health issues, just as she had done for others. Dee is survived by her husband, James; son, Christopher and his wife Tracy; grandson Nathan and granddaughter Brianna; sister Polly and her husband Larry; nieces Crystal, Kim, and Ashley; great-nieces Taylor, Bailey, McKenzie, Cora, Adison, Maya and great nephew Bryce. Dee will be remembered by family and close friends at the Brookside , 3747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on , 5, 2016. |
