Obituary: Richard Earl Sigler, 72, died 26, 2013 with his family by his side in Farmers Branch, TX. A memorial service will be held , 29, 2013 at Rhoton in Carrollton,TX from 6-8pm. Graveside service will be held , 30, 2013 at Oakwood in Arcadia, OK at 2pm. He was born 2, 1940, in Oklahoma City, OK to Willard and Iva Sigler. Obituary: Paul Sigler, 79, of Amarillo died on 23, 2015. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., on , at St. Marys Cathedral with Father Scott Raef officiating. Burial will be in Llano . are by Schooler 4100 S. Georgia. St. Paul was born on May 26, 1935, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Charles and Hazel Armstrong Sigler. He joined the Air Force when he was seventeen years old and spent his enlistment years in Misawa, Japan. He was a Korean War Veteran. Paul married Stella Marie Sigler, in 1956, in Amarillo, and they spent most of their married lives in Amarillo. He retired from the Postal Service in 1990 with 31 years of government service. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Marjorie and Phylyss; and one brother Charles. Paul is survived by his wife; two sons Jack Sigler of Yukon, Oklahoma, Kevin Sigler and wife Donna, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; two daughters, Julie Page and husband Kyle, and Sharon Bryant and husband T.J., all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren Jon Sigler, Jeff Bryant, Joshua Nelson, Corbin Sigler, Rachel Nelson, Sarah Sigler, and Jenny Sigler; three great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Mackenzie, and Alister; a brother Thomas Russell and wife Lynda and son Chad of Arlington; a nephew Michael Olson and wife Betty and their children of Martin, South Dakota. He will be missed by his family and friends. |

Obituary: Oma was born to Lela and Guyon Travis in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on 24, 1926. She was the only child of theirs, and later had two step brothers, Guyon ("Stick") Travis and Doyle Wayne ("Twig") and one step sister, Arlene Travis. Oma was moved to Dallas at three months of age, where she lived out the rest of her life. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School, where she was in the pep squad and a very good student. At age 18, she moved to Washington, D.C., to help with the war effort and was a secretary to a group of Army doctors, which she referred to as "wolves". This came about, as mom was taking dictation from one Army doctor, who called her "Tex." And he asked her one day, "Tex, why do you have such long legs?", to which she replied "to run from wolves like you." During this time, is when she met my father, Calvin Houston McAlpin. were married in 1946. Three years later she gave birth to her first son, Calvin Houston McAlpin II. She was a stay at home mom, and ran a daycare in her home. She gave birth to her second son, Rhyne Paul McAlpin, in 1953. Her third son came in 1955, Mark Steven McAlpin. Tragically six months later, she lost her second son, Rhyne Paul, to a rare blood disorder. Three sons later, she finally had me, Robin Denise McAlpin in 1957. In 1960, mother went to work for the Small Business Administration (SBA), as a legal secretary. Where she had a thirty year career processing and approving Federal loans for small businesses. She was assigned disaster duty, after a major hurricane, Camille, hit Corpus Christi in 1970. She enjoyed her tour of duty for several weeks, but was glad to be home. The family's double income, allowed for yearly family vacations, and gave the love of traveling to her children. Mom has ventured to many places, including: Europe, Rome, Russia, the Western Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, and China. She also traveled domestically to places like Galveston, South Carolina, Florida, Maine, New York, and California. She loved to go and do. She met many wonderful friends along the way. Her love of learning took her back to , where she earned her Associate's Degree as a Paralegal. She loved to dance, cut-up, and laugh and had fun with every one. She was a lover of life. Mom had many trials and tribulations going through life. Strength, love and faith carried her through it all. With the passing of her next two sons, and a divorce, she found strength and light through her grandchildren, Calvin Houston McAlpin III ("Trey"), Roy Austin McAlpin, and Rachel Evans. Mom was also blessed with four greatgrandchildren: Kaelynne McAlpin, Chase and Bailey McAlpin, and Kensington ("Kinsie"). The holidays were a special time for our family. Mom was always the host and was gracious with gifts and love. two years of mourning the death of her marriage and second son, Mark, I told her to "get a girlfriend and go out!" She met her best friend, Marie, and I never had a babysitter again on or night. The VFW post on Garland road is where she liked to meet friends, have fun, and dance. Then Etcel came into our lives, and was a beloved husband of fourteen wonderful years. Not only was he a husband, but her traveling and dancing companion. Her love and kindness was not only for her family and friends, but she had enough to go around for animals too. She always had a dog, and most of whom she named "Fella," so she can always say she had a "Fella" at home. Everybody always talked about how much fun she was and how she was always happy. And that will forever shine in our hearts, we will miss her tremendously, but know she is in a better place. |
