Obituary: Ivan Doyle Siddons, MD of Dallas, TX died on 14, 2015. Doyle was born on a farm in Fay, Oklahoma on May 5, 1933. He received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Following his graduation from medical school, he served for two years in the Navy during the Korean War. He did his internship and residency in radiology in Galveston, TX where he met and married Sharon Vernon in 1964. recently celebrated their 50th anniversary together in Australia. Upon completion of his training they moved to Sacramento, CA where he practiced at Mercy General Hospital. In 1979 they moved back to Galveston Island for one year and then to Clear Lake where he practiced at Mainland Hospital until his retirement in 1999. Doyle was an avid fan of OU football and loved attending the annual OU/TX game each fall. An excellent cook, he made the best chicken fried steak and creamed gravy. He could do the New York Times weekly crossword puzzle in ink and was an expert at jigsaw puzzles. He gave his time every for 10 years at the Information Booth at Love Field - he was one of the original LUV Helpers in that volunteer program. He is preceded in death by his parents James Key and Opal of Fay, Oklahoma, and his sister, Jean, of Redmond, WA. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Vernon Siddons of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his sons Scott and his wife Juliet of Dallas, TX, Jason Siddons of Orange, CA, Chad and his wife Whitney of Melbourne, Australia; and his six grandchildren Gibson, Sarah, Ashley, Campbell, Piper, and Finlay. Memorial Service to be held on , 23 at 3:00 at the Church of the Incarnation, 3966 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204. A Celebration of Life to be held after. Obituary: Ernestine L. Siddle, age 82, passed from this life into the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior on , 23, 2013, surrounded by her children. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on , 27, 2013, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX, 75225. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on , 26, 2013 at Sparkman/Hillcrest. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skillman Church of Christ Building Fund in care of the Skillman Church of Christ, 3014 Skillman Street, Dallas, TX 75206, or a charity of your choice. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on May 16, 1931, Ernestine was the eldest daughter of Ernest W. and Lella Pat Hargon Lowrie. The Lowrie family resided in Memphis, TN, where Ernestine attended and graduated from Messick High School in 1949. While at Messick, Ernestine played the flute in the band and was awarded a music scholarship to the Texas State of Women (now Texas Womens University) in Denton, TX. She graduated with honors from TWU in 1953 with a B.S. in education and a minor in music. In of 1953, Ernestine began a life-long career as an educator with various schools in the Dallas area. Her first job was teaching 6th grade at Lakewood Elementary, where she met and married another life-long DISD teacher, Bernie E. Siddle, in 1958. Due to a DISD rule at the time that prevented a husband and wife from teaching in the same school district, Ernestine joined the Highland Park Schools, where she taught 4th grade at Armstrong Elementary until the birth of their first child. From 1962 to 1972, Ernestine taught some of her greatest lessons of love, devotion, faith and family in the home she and Bernie provided for their two children, Tamara and Jed. In 1972, Ernestine completed a Masters Degree in Education from the University of North Texas and returned to the Highland Park Schools, where she was a reading specialist and taught 2nd grade at Hyer Elementary. In 1976, Ernestine assumed the role of elementary principal at Dallas Christian School. She remained at Dallas Christian, serving in various leadership roles, until she retired in 1996. Following retirement, Ernestine traveled with family and friends, taking advantage of every opportunity to go and see as much of the world as possible. She especially loved traveling with her two grandsons, Keller and Connor Reese. In the late 1990s, Ernestine combined her adventurous spirit, her passion for teaching children and her love for the Lord and began to go on mission trips to Romania. Ernestine traveled to Romania on four separate mission trips, working in orphanages and teaching English as a second language using the Gospel of Luke as her textbook. Ernestine was a member of the Skillman Church of Christ for 55 years, where she served in various ministries and made her dearest and closest friendships. She also volunteered as a mentor at Stults Elementary, near the retirement community where she lived. She was known for her sense of humor, her zest for life, and for being a woman of prayer. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlework, reading, playing bridge and working crossword puzzles. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Nancy Hernandez for her attentive care the past two years and to the many dedicated staff at Presbyterian Village North. Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Bernie E. Siddle, her parents, Ernest and Pat Lowrie, and sister, Jan Lowrie. She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Reese and her husband, Dan, and their sons, Keller and Connor Reese; and her son, Jed Siddle and his wife, Christy, and their sons Sean and his wife, Taylor, and Jacob Brown; and two nieces. |

Obituary: Our beloved mother, born Phyllis Dale Bucklin, to George and Alice Bucklin on 21, 1918 in Morris, Illinois. Phyllis was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, attending Lincoln High School and the University of Nebraska. In 1938, Phyllis moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she met and married Robert Lee Siddall in 1941. raised two sons, Robert Bucklin and George ONeal, in Sherman, Texas. Phyllis was a life-long Camp Fire Girl. Beginning in 1938 she served as camp counselor, volunteer and board member of Camp Fire Girls of America in Corpus Christi, Sherman and finally Austin. Phyllis also worked for the Travis Constables Office in Austin, Texas from 1968 until retirement. Phyllis was a Christian, a faithful and active member of Hyde Park Baptist Church and Austin Baptist Churches, First Baptist Church of Sherman, First Baptist of San Antonio and the First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi respectively. Phyllis passed away peacefully at the age of 97. She is preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 60 years, and her sisters Grace Van Patton, Mildred Bucklin Potts and Evelyn Bucklin Easter. She is survived by her sons Robert Bucklin Siddall and wife Marianne of Corpus Christi and George ONeal Siddall and partner Patti Robinson of Austin. Other survivors include grandsons Robert Jr. and wife Lisa and Edward, and 3 great granddaughters- Kaidence, Ashlyn and Audrey.
