Obituary: Otto E. Tex Schoeneman and Mary Ann Schoeneman

Mary Ann and Tex Schoeneman peacefully transcended this life together on , 21, 2010, after more than fifty years of marriage, life, and family spent together. The lovely Mary Ann met the larger-than-life Tex, a consummate Texan of German decent, in the 1950s. soon realized that they were meant to be partners in a future brimming with challenges and achievements together. Mary Ann, always the strong, elegant Texas mate, was a perfect balance to Texs bold and adventurous nature. Side by side they nurtured each other, built a strong business, and found a kinship rarely found on this earth. Some say that in the end they were unaware of each others presence in the hospice facility, but their passing together within hours of each other belies that fact. Some sentience beyond our understanding beautifully orchestrated the departure times of these two souls as neither wanted to ever be without the other.

Tex, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, was born on 20, 1919, in Spring, Texas, son of the late Otto and Rosa Schoeneman, and was preceded in death by his brother Oswald Schoeneman and sisters, Ruth Leitner, Renata Haude, Alma Frank and Dora Fussell. He attended Klein High School and Texas A&M University. Tex was a Staff Sgt. in the United States Army and proudly served in World War II. In 1964, together with Mary Ann, they began Atlas-Universal Roofing , which they owned and operated until retirement. Tex was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Rotary Club of Houston, never missing a meeting. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.

Mary Ann, beloved wife, step-mother, and aunt, was born on 14, 1921, in Kokomo, Indiana, daughter of the late Hazel and William Barlow, and was preceded in death by her brothers,
William and Robert Barlow, and sisters, Norma Bush and Virginia Browning. She attended Kokomo High School and Business in Indiana before moving to Houston where she
met her beloved Tex. Pride in her business skills proved to be a valuable asset as she and Tex founded and fostered their own company. Her business accomplishments also
extended into real estate as she procured various properties and never failed to renew her real estate license annually, as recent as this past year. Although the business kept her busy, she always referred
to it as a labor of love, for as she mentioned just recently, she truly enjoyed accounting and bookkeeping. Usually wearing fashionable hat wear, Mary Ann was a
lady of style and an accomplished seamstress who often sewed her own lovely clothing. Her other interests included gardening, cooking, enjoying her many pets, and travel. Mary
Anns life was a blessing for many and she will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation on , 26, 2010, at Forest Park Lawndale from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A celebration of life for Tex and Mary Ann will be held on 27, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5201 Spring Cypress Road, Spring, Texas, with Pastor Noack serving as celebrant.
