Obituary: Elizabeth M. Sartor was born 18, 1921 in Artesia, NM to James and Nora Tomlinson. Although she was not a native to Texas, Amarillo was her home. She worked as a waitress and was a wonderful homemaker. She was a very loving grandmother and cherished all of her grandkids. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband John Sartor 15, 1991 and daughter Nora McMillin 11, 2003. Obituary: Anita Allen Sartor, age 86, of Dallas, passed away on , , 23, 2011. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. We will forever miss her elegance, strength, charm, and laughter. Anita was born 6, 1924 in Dora, Alabama, and spent most of her life in Dallas. She was a graduate of North Dallas High School and Baylor University. She was a member of Tri Delta, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Dallas Womens Forum. Her lifelong love of art spurred a decades-long career at Joseph Sartor Galleries. As a woman of faith, she helped establish Royal Lane Baptist Church in 1952 and was the last surviving charter member. Her accomplishments are as endless as the stories she could tell, and her love of people always seemed just as endless. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Sartor, Jr., sons Joseph Sartor, III, Scott Sartor, and Thomas Sartor. She is survived by her children, Stephen Sartor and wife Carmen, Sandrea Janson and husband Chuck, and her eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 26, 2011 at Royal Lane Baptist Church, 6707 Royal Lane in Dallas. Gene is survived by his beloved wife: Barbara (Gould) Sartin; two sons: Bryan Sartin & wife Jody, and Zac Sartin; grandchildren: Dean, Jake & Ava - all of Dallas, TX; sister: Pat Wright-Evans and husband Tony Evans of Jenks, OK; brother: Dennis Sartin and wife Monica of Texarkana, TX; brother-in-law Doug Gould and wife Pam of Ecuador; and many other extended family and friends. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle. Genes loyalty and devotion to family and friends was visible to all who knew and loved him. He was a source of advice and wisdom, always there for those who needed him. Raised a Baptist Christian, Genes faith and spirituality guided his interactions with others. Born, raised, educated and married in Mississippi, Genes competitive nature influenced all aspect of his life. A true entrepreneur and a business owner, Gene was a motivated individual, driven to success. His hardworking and tenacious nature helped define his character. Above all else, he was the center of the family. A dependable rock for his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings, Genes family brought him immeasurable joy and happiness. Obituary: On 16, 2015, Sedgie Weldon Sartin, 88, left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. services are at 2:00 p.m. , 20, 2015, at Lakewood Memorial on Clinton Boulevard in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will proceed the service at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Sedgie was born to Reginald E. Sartin and Hettie Gertrude Sartin, on 27, 1926, and grew up in Tylertown, MS. He was one of five brothers and sisters living during the great depression. During WWII he began working at Camp Shelby in Mississippi followed by service in welding Liberty Ships at St. Simon's Island, Georgia. He served in the US Army and participated in the final defeat of Nazi Germany in1945. He served with the 95th Chemical Mortar Battalion under the First Army and the defeat of Field Marshall Model in the Northern Industrial Ruhr Area of Germany. were then assigned to General George Patton's Third Army to complete the defeat the Nazi's in the South. He participated in the liberation of a Prison of War Camp in Eichstadt that relieved 15,000 allied prisoners of war. He also participated in the protection and retrieval of 16,000 paintings hiddenin the copper mine of Siegen, Germany popularized by the movie Monuments Men. the war, Sedgie married his sweetheart Bennie Jean Brantley on 15, 1946. began their Sentimental Journey in Jackson, Mississippi and for sixty-eight years they walked together. He was a master carpenter for Shepard s and worked with James Boone and Bill's Institutional Commissary for many years. Sedgie and Bonnie raised their three children in the Broadmoor section of Jackson before moving to Cleary, Mississippi. Retirement from Mississippi Valley Foods found them moving to Carthage, Mississippi and eventually Texas to be near family. attended Broadmoor Baptist Church, Cleary Heights Baptist Church, and finally First Baptist Church of Celina, Texas. were deeply loved by all who knew them. He served his church and our Lord by building cabinets, expansions, and various projects in many of their churches they attended. There are very few homes in the Jackson area who did not benefit from his skill and quality workmanship. He is survived by his bride, Bonnie, sons Ralph Sartin of Prosper, Texas; Danny Sartin (Cathy) of Bartlett, Tennessee; Jerry Sartin (Terri) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
