Obituary: Stephen Lee Sapp died suddenly of natural causes on , 11, 2015. He was 55. Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Theresa; their children, Benjamin Lee, 32, and Catherine Anne, 27. Steve was born in Oklahoma City to Bert (d. 2001) and Susan Sapp (d.2007), who relocated to Lawrence, Kansas and built a life there. Steve excelled in debate at both Lawrence High and Kansas University, so it was no surprise when he followed in his fathers footsteps and pursued a law career. graduating with honors from the University of Kansas School of Law, Steve initially thought he wanted to become a litigator. But it soon became apparent that he had a particular knack in the realm of corporate law. He was a master of the art of the deal. Steve found solutions to his clients needs that were comprehensive and innovative. While Steve was not defined by his law career, he was justifiably proud to be a lawyer. He began his career in Dallas at what is now known as Locke Lord and was a partner with Schiff Hardin at the time of his death. Steve grew tremendously in his Catholic faith over the past decade, contributing time and treasure to his parish, St. Patrick. He participated in the parish ACTS community and was an early supporter of Redemptoris Mater Diocesan Missionary Seminary. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 799. Steve lived his life with gusto. He was an accomplished cook, a gracious host and an erudite conversationalist. An evening at the Sapps is always a grand occasion. Steve and Terry also enjoyed traveling with friends. Steve was a voracious reader across a wide range of subjects, and was always equipped with just the right quote for the occasion: How shall a sinner, who has formed his character upon unbelief, trusting sight and reason rather than conscience and Scripture, how shall he begin to repent? What must he do? Is it possible he can overcome himself, and make new his heart in the end of his days? It is possible. --Blessed John Henry Newman. Visitation will begin at 6pm , 15, followed by a Rosary at 7pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9643 Ferndale Road, Dallas, TX 75238. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am , 16 at St. Patrick, followed by reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 10110 Shoreview Road, Dallas 75238. Obituary: Robert Dellis Sapp, 42, of Abilene, went to be with our Lord on , 2nd, 2013, after battling a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held , 10th at 4:00 p.m. at Freedom Fellowship Church, 941 Chestnut, Abilene, with Zacheri Espinosa officiating. by Elliott-Hamil , 542 Hickory St., Abilene, TX. He was born on 7th, 1970, in Mt. Pleasant Township, MO, to Sharon Lee Ellis and Richard David Sapp. Robert and his family moved to Abilene in 1984, and he has resided here since. He attended Wylie High School, and graduated in 1988. He worked as an auto mechanic for many years until he became disabled with a serious illness in 2009. Robert was loved by many, and always a joy to be around. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and racing cars. His dog, Chevy, was his pride and joy. Survivors include his wife, Penny Hurt of Abilene, his mother Sharon Cole of Longview, his grandmother Christine Ellis of Longview, brother Ben Sapp and his wife Monica of Plano, Uncle Brad Ellis of New York, Aunt Rhetta Sapp of Nashville, TN, and other aunts, cousins, and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Rick Sapp. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his family, his in-laws, and all of his friends. A special thank you goes out to West Texas Rehabilitation , who have helped Robert tremendously. Obituary: Rita Jeanne Sapp. Born 9, 1925 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and passed away on , 29, 2014 at the age of 88. Rita was the fourth of five daughters born to Claude and Iva Trickett. She received her degree as an LVN and worked at Baylor Medical for a number of years before going to work for a private doctors office. retiring, she and her husband, Ed, moved to Athens TX where they resided for 25 years. Rita married George Edward Sapp 24, 1950. He preceded her in death on 8, 2013. She was also preceded in death by daughters Ann Barker and Gayle Humphrey; one great grandchild; and three sisters Miriam, Phyllis and Dora Lee. Rita is survived by daughters Jan Sapp, Tricia Burns, 5 grandchildren, Leann Bach, Lara Tillman, Staci Satterfield, Tommy Burns and Michael Burns; 10 great grandchildren; her remaining sister Mary Edith Staples; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 PM, , 6, 2014, Sparkman/Crane Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the 1st Methodist Church of Athens TX or a charity of your choice. |
