Obituary: Jane Lynn Sansom of Arlington, Texas, peacefully departed this earthly life on 21, 2013, causing great sorrow and sadness to her many friends. Born on 17, 1955, in Oklahoma City, OK, to James Fell Sansom and Ruth Bennett Sansom, Jane was a kind and compassionate woman. Many have been blessed by her warm heart and generous spirit. Jane studied at the University of Grenoble in France and the University of Michigan before attending and graduating from Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement and Business. Her accomplished career included service as the chief of security for Sak's and as a financial analyst and security manager for Dean Witter, before becoming a member of the IBM team. During her nearly 30 years with IBM, Jane's superiors recognized her intellectual ability and exceptional talent, resulting in her service over the years in the security and management arenas, as well as appointments as a site coordinator and a financial analyst. A devoted daughter and sister, Jane had a strong sense of familial duty and made many sacrifices in her life for the benefit of her parents and brother. Notwithstanding those sacrifices, she maintained a great sense of humor, and was known for her dry wit and infectious laugh. Jane had a heart of gold, regularly helping others, both financially and in other uplifting ways. Preceded in death by her parents and only brother, James F. Sansom, Jr., Jane is survived by numerous friends and by her four-legged pride and joy, Gracie. She left this world too soon and will be very much missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her special wit, grace and wisdom. There will be a memorial service at Moore and Sons in Arlington on 27 at 12:30 pm, immediately preceded by visitation at the funeral home from 11:30 am--12:30 pm. Obituary: Angelina M. Sansom was born on 13, 1915 in Laredo, TX to the parentage of Manuel Mendez and Regina Trevino Mendez. She moved to San Antonio, TX with her family in 1929. She was one of five siblings, sister, Bertha and three brothers, Manuel, Ramiro and Oscar. Mrs. Sansom is predeceased by her husband, Raymond T. Sansom, son, Nemesio Jim Meneses, grandson, Joseph Douglas Castillo, step-grandson, Warren Herkes II and step-daughter, Marie Etta Herkes. Mrs. Sansom passed away on 13, 2005. She was a faithful member of St. JohnÂs Luthern Church since 1955 and was past Treasurer of the Women of the Church Organization; a Stephen Minister; past President of the George D. Newton Auxiliary of the American Legion; as well as a life member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Auxiliary #123, and to her delight, a member of the Norwegian Heritage Club since 1992. Survivors: daughter, Irene and son-in-law, Joe D. Castillo; granddaughters, Patti Meneses, Sandra Gary Guzner, Melissa Meneses; grandsons, Ronald Nicole Meneses, David Dorothy Castillo, Michael Diane Castillo and Richard Debora Castillo; step-grandchildren, Deseree Meree, Rhonda Herkes, Brenda Armour and Shawn Herkes; step-daughter, Mrs. Levonne Forrest Gifford; 6 great-grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren; 2 great-great granddaughters, Maia Day Meneses and Baby Chloe Castillo; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Olga Y. Obituary: Mrs. Billy M. Sansing (Ruth Ann Chaney) was born 22, 1921, in San Benito, Texas. She was the daughter of A. B. Chaney and Ruth Jolly Chaney. She lived her early years in Arkansas and Missouri, as her father was a civil engineer with the Missouri-Pacific Railroad. She attended Christian in Columbia, Missouri for her freshman year. She transferred to the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. She met Billy M. Sansing in 1941 on Pearl Harbor Day, and married the then Lieutenant Sansing in Little Rock on 3, 1942. Her career as a successful homemaker featured stops in Texas, Mexico, Connecticut, Ohio, and Illinois. Her three children became the center of her productive life, while cooking and gardening were her interests. Her nutritional education helped her become one of the early advocates of healthful eating. She leaves behind her husband Billy; brother James B. Chaney; son David, his wife Caroline, and grandson Dean; daughter Cynthia Sansing Mycoskie, her husband, Steve Chapman, and grandsons Christopher, Kevin, and Craig Mycoskie; and son Richard and his wife Deana. She was an active supporter of numerous charitable efforts, particularly of environmental and animal causes. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. A lifelong Presbyterian, she was an active member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church in San Antonio. Ruth Anns retirement years were spent in The Towers on Park Lane in San Antonio, where she played an active role in its governance. In her final years, she was faithfully cared for by Virginia Morales. Memorial services will take place at 10:30 a.m. , 20, 2013 at John Calvin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Malcolm L. McQueen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the John Calvin Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 8102 Midcrown, S.A., TX 78239. |
