Obituary: Robert Ray Sandlin entered into eternal rest on 16, 2015 at the age of 71. He was retired from Methodist Hospital after 37 years of dedicated service and was a lifetime member of the Woodworkers Club of Houston. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Katy, Texas and was very proud of his Baptist heritage. Robert was preceded in death by his loving mother Elizabeth Sandlin, father Robert I. Sandlin. He was survived by numerous cousins whom he lovingly referred to as "The Family." He was a skilled craftsman who loved woodworking, and he enjoyed watching old movies -- especially the old westerns. Robert loved all kinds of music, especially classical, blues and southern gospel, and he enjoyed playing his accordion and his drums. Most of all, he looked forward to spending time with the family. Bobby will be truly missed. |

Obituary: Ms. Mary Jane Sandlin passed away peacefully on 16 in Lakeway, Texas after a courageous battle with ongoing illnesses. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James and Lula Sandlin, her sister, Laviana Sunny Barrow, and brother-in-law, Wes Barrow. She is survived by her nephews Robert McDonald, Solomon Barrow, Jr., her nieces Bibi McDonald, Dolly Barrow, and her great nephews Travis McDonald and Solomon Barrow, III. The much loved Mary, who was affectionately called Aunt Mary or Aunt Jane by almost everyone she knew, was born in Houston, Texas on 3, 1921. Her family later moved to Beaumont, Texas where her father practiced medicine. Mary dedicated her life to serving others. She was an accomplished and avid musician with an extensive education culminating in a Masters of Music. Marys faith was very important to her; she often included sacred music in her programs to give glory to God. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on , 20 at Magnolia , 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas with Reverend Chacko Puthumayil officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association and the Sisters of the Incarnate Word Academy, 3400 Bradford Place, Houston, Texas. |

Obituary: Mitchell Berle Sandlin, 65, of Mesquite, TX passed away peacefully on , May 19, 2015 at Dallas Regional Hospital in Mesquite. He was born in Tupelo, MS to the late Ezekiel Sandlin and Mabel McKnight Sandlin. Mitchell was raised in Fulton, MS where he was a member of the Fulton Methodist church. He graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in 1967, and the claims law program of the American Educational Institute in 1989 as became certified as a Senior law claims associate. Mitchell married his high school sweetheart Leevay Adams in 1969 and Mitchell’s job relocated them to Fulton, Greenville, and Oxford, MS before settling in Mesquite, TX. He began a lifelong career in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster in Tupelo, MS with the Northeast Mississippi appraisal service, followed by work with the Crawford Insurance company in Greenville, MS. During his 27 years with the Hartford Insurance as an Executive general adjuster in North Mississippi and in Texas. This was followed by work with Team One claim services, Unified Investigations and Sciences Inc, and finally York risk services Inc. Mitchell had a great interest in politics and world affairs. He served in the Marine Corps and was a true patriot. Mitchell was a lifelong sports enthusiast, especially baseball and Football. His favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals, Ole Miss rebels, and the New York Giants. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of Cedar Creek Country club in Mabank, TX. He was an avid reader and a fan of Zane Grey and Louis L’Amour novels among others. Mitchell adored his dogs greatly especially Miss Muffin. He will be remembered best as a great husband, father, and brother. His was a true and loyal friend to many, and was widely known for his honesty, dedication, and his ability to entertain all with his lively and amusing stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mitchell is preceded in death by his twin brother Michael Earl Sandlin; paternal grandparents Joseph E. and Mary Thorn Sandlin; Maternal grandparents William Oscar and Sara Ophelia Bradberry McKnight. He is survived by his beloved wife Leevay Adams Sandlin; daughter Anna Sandlin Diamond and husband Michael Diamond; son Mitchell Brian Sandlin; sister Julia Sandlin Chenault and husband Walter M. Chenault; brother Jerry Sandlin; as well as his numerous loving nieces, nephews, and other friends. |

Obituary: Mary Louise Sandlin went to her heavenly home on 26, 2015. She was 87 years old. Mary Lou was born on 9, 1928 to parents, Arthur and Mary DeGrauwe in Rock Island, Illinois. She was raised in the Rock Island area and was influenced by her parent's Belgian heritage. She attended ana , and in 1952 began work with Braniff Airlines. Mary Lou met her beloved husband, JB that same year. It was love at first sight. were married after their fourth date. wed on 11, 1952. Mary Lou was instrumental in helping develop their family business, Sandlin s. She was partner and chief decorator, until her retirement in 1995, all while raising their four children. Mary Lou and JB had a passion for traveling and made many memories traveling with their children and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Suzy Speight and her husband, Matt, Mike Sandlin and his wife, Eva, Terry Sandlin, and his wife Melissa, and Scott Sandlin, and his wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Maggie Speight Taylor and her husband, Christopher, Zachary Speight, Abby Speight, Jon Sandlin and his wife, Maureen, Stephen Sandlin and his wife, Kori, Christopher Sandlin, Jilaine Sandlin, Beth Sandlin Moore and her husband, Charlie, Amy Sandlin, Jordan Sandlin, Danielle Sandlin, and Samantha Sandlin; great-grandchild, Elizabeth Sandlin; Sister, Betty Hamerlinck and her husband, Eugene and numerous other relatives and friends. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, JB; grandson, Andrew Sandlin; parents, Arthur and Mary DeGrauwe and brother, Robert DeGrauwe.
