Obituary: Margarito Shorty Rincon Sanchez SR., 78 was called home to our Lord on 25, 2010. He was a 49 year resident of Dimmitt, Texas until he moved to Lubbock in 2003. He was born in Mercedes, Texas on 22, 1932. He married Francisca A. Sanchez on 10th, 1954. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Francisca Avila Sanchez, and his children: Manuel- Childress, Connie- Dimmitt, Margarito Jr.- Arizona, Jerry- Florida, Elsa- Amarillo, Esperanza- Lubbock, Ruben- Dallas, Maria- San Antonio, Hector- Lubbock, Elisa- Hart, Carolina- Lubbock, Abraham- Lubbock, Gloria- San Antonio and Jeremy- Lubbock. He had 56 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was a self-employed welder until he retired, known in Dimmitt as Shorty. He was a man of all seasons and trades, and also enjoyed the outdoors. He had a knack for gardening and music. He was a skilled, self-taught guitarist and accordion player who enjoyed composing and playing music for his children to sing in church. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters; Elizabeth- 1962, Viola- 2006, son Stephen- 1977, and one grandson Blake- 2006. Visitation will be with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm at Resthavens Abbey Chapel. Mass will be 10:00am on at Our Lady of Grace Church followed by burial in Resthavens Memorial Park . Pallbearers will be his sons and grandson. He was a loving and fun husband, grandfather and great grandfather who will surely be missed. His favorite scripture was Genesis 1:28. Charitable contributions can be sent to www.pop.org.
