She married her husband of 57 years on 8, 1953, Mike Salinas. She was self-employed as the owner operator of Ema’s Beauty Shop. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She loved working with special needs children as a para professional for CCISD. She also loved to cook wearing her favorite apron, sewing, and singing while she worked. Ema is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Salinas, and parents Nemias and Joseph Arredondo, granddaughter Crystal Pena, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Obituary: Daniel "Boone" Salinas, 67, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away on 6, 2015. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends and cooking out while watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Survivors include his son, Daniel (Stacy) Salinas Jr. and daughter Diane Salinas of Corpus Christi; daughter, Cynthia (Eddie) Esquivel of Lytle; daughter, Christina Salinas of San Antonio; brother, Roberto Salinas Jr. of Annaville; half-brothers, Juan and Elias Salinas of Corpus Christi and half-sister Margarita (Isaac) Lopez. Grandpa Boone also leaves behind six grandchildren, Amber Danielle, Daniel III, Benjamin Alonzo, Olivia Maya, Daniella Andrea, Liliana Isis and a great Granddaughter Layla Danielle. Daniel was preceded in death by his loving Wife, Margarita G. Salinas; his parents, Roberto and Josefa Salinas Sr.; and brothers, Noe and Ismael Salinas. Daniel also leaves behind Maria and Eddie Escandon and his dog, Tiger who he also loved. Obituary: Elena Gonzalez Salinas died peacefully at home on 1st, 2007. Mrs. Salinas was born in Roma, Texas on 17th, 1912. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anacleto J. Salinas; her son, Jorge and her brothers Francisco, Marcial, Fidencio, Leonides, and Rupaco Gonzalez. She is survived by her children, Joel A. Salinas and wife Olga of Roma, Texas, Elena Guerra and her husband Francisco of Los Alamos, NM and Lucila M. Guyer and her husband Dennis of San Antonio, Texas and four grandchildren Francisco Jr., Anabel, Jaime, and Jorge Guerra all of Los Alamos, NM.. She is also survived by step grandchildren, Elizabeth Guzman, Felix Gonzalez, Eduardo Mendez, Miriam Solis, and Daniel Mendez and eleven step great grandchildren. Mrs. Salinas was from a prominent pioneering family in Roma, Texas. She and her brothers established Gonzalez Mercantile, Inc. which grew to be the largest department store in Starr . Mrs. Salinas along with her husband also owned and operated Salinas Service Station & Grocery in Escobares for 30 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who continued to work to support her family and care for her bedridden husband for 11 years when he was diagnosed with cancer. She had strong sense of family, moral and religious values and instilled these in her children. Whenever she was faced with adversity, she would face it without fear and with a determination that she would succeed. Her home was always filled with music and laughter. No one could come and visit her without having to stay and have Âa little something to eat. She instilled in her family a great love of life and her saying was always that Âif at first you don succeed, try and try again. Since she had to quit school at an early age to help with the family business she made sure her children received a college education. That, she said, was something no one could ever take away from you. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Cofradia del Santo Rosario of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Roma. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Pan American Roundtable. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church on , 3, 2007, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. There will be a Rosary at the Sanchez in Roma, Texas on , 4, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. Mass will be conducted , 5, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Roma in Roma, Texas.
