Obituary: Dermont Clarence Saddoris passed away 5, 2006, at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; step-children, Cherri Awe, Jim Hawkins and Julie White; plus several nieces and nephews. He was born 1, 1916 in Toussiant, OH. He was preceded by parents and other siblings. He enlisted in the Army in 1936 Â- was transferred to U.S. Air Force in , 1941. He opened new air fields in Hondo, San Marcos and Harlingen. He was transferred to the 80th Flying Wing and made inspection schools in Texas and Louisana. Assignments at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls and Randolph Air Force Base. He made Warrant Officer in 1949. He was assigned to Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma. Was assigned to Wheeles AFB, Melhalla AFB, Tripoli, Lybia. He returned to Hamilton AFB, California from there he was assigned to George AFB at Abelanto, California, where he made Chief Warrant Officer 4. 2 years, he was assigned to Ernest Harmon AFB, Newfoundland. In 1963, he was assigned to Castle AFB, where he retired 1, 1964. He began his volunteer work in , 1989, at Wilford Hall. He enjoyed working in PETS Patient Escort Transcort Service. He was awarded Volunteer of the Year, two years in a row. Survivors: wife, Jeanne Saddoris; niece, Tess Love and husband, Bill, Shelby, OH and other nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Cherri Awe and husband, Jim, Schertz, TX; step-son, Jim Hawkins and wife, Pam, Logo Vista, TX; step-daughter, Julie White and husband, Wayne, Milton Beach, FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Wilford Hall Medical Chapel.
