Obituary: Jimmy Lee Stoutt, age 81, went to be with the Lord upon a peaceful passing at home on , 20th. He was a native of Blount , and graduated from Everett High School; then served in the U.S. Army, in Korea. He was a career mechanic with Alcoa Aluminum , and enjoyed productive activities in his spare time, such as gardening, cutting fire wood, working on the familys cars, and renovating and making repairs on rental properties he owned. He was a committed Christian who sought to faithfully serve the Lord by loving and serving others. His early church years were spent at Clover Hill Presbyterian Church, and as an adult, he joined Dotson Memorial Baptist Church, where he and his wife raised their daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.N. and Lillie Mae (Abbott) Stoutt; and by siblings Newton Stoutt, Mary Catherine Haney, and George Stoutt of Maryville, and Bobby Stoutt of Oak Ridge, TN. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn Davenport Stoutt; and by two daughters, Connie Stoutt Weaver of Asheboro, NC, and her husband, Joe; and Tonya Stoutt-Brown of Friendsville and her husband, David. He is also survived by granddaughters Annie Brown of Friendsville and Allison Brown Felty and husband Austin of Alcoa; and by grandsons Nathan Weaver of Clemson, SC; Thomas Weaver of Greensboro, NC; and Henry Weaver of Charlotte, NC. In addition, Mr. Stoutt is survived by a brother, Paul Stoutt of Maryville. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and other family members. The family wishes to express special appreciation to the employees and volunteers of the Bartlett Program at New Providence Presbyterian Church, who supported and loved Mr. Stoutt for several years. Appreciation is also expressed to caregivers Kathy Beach, Connie Wright and Donna Sheldon, and to the Hospice personnel and volunteers who were such a welcome source of support. The kindnesses of friends and family are too numerous to name, but have been deeply appreciated. Mr. Stoutts daughters wish to especially thank their mother for the faithful and loving care she provided to their father at home over a period of more than a decade. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, , 22, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel in Maryville, with the Rev. Dr. Stan Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will be at the Clover Hill Presbyterian Church cemetery, with graveside military honors, following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Bartlett Adult Day Out Program at New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 West Broadway Avenue, Maryville, TN, 37801.
