Obituary: View Video Tribute View Webcast Mrs. Willie Mae Huff Stofel, 96, widow of the late Bernard Stofel and retired employee of E. I. DuPont, died , 15, 2016. services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols with David Stofel officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill . The family will visit with friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born 8, 1919 in Williamson , she was the daughter of the late John M. Huff and Mattie Jones Huff. On 25, 1939, she married Bernard Stofel who preceded her in death 23, 2005. She was preceded in death by her grandson, John Liggett Stofel; two brothers, Frank Huff and Allen Huff; and a sister, Margie Roberts of Louisville, Kentucky. Survivors include her two sons, Charles W. (Barbara) Stofel of Columbia and Dwight S. (Kathi) Stofel of Paris Landing; grandchildren, Jessica Lee Stofel of Morrison, Scott (Abbie) Stofel of Spring Hill, and George (Shannon) Stofel of Columbia; five great grandchildren; and a special niece, Linda Stofel Hendley of Columbia. Active pallbearers will be George Stofel, Scott Stofel, Wade Allen, Mike Allen, Douglas L. Wright, Jr., James L. Stofel, and Weston Stofel. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Sunshine School Class of Highland Park Baptist Church, retired co-workers of E.I. DuPont and special friend, Faye Claude of Mt. Pleasant. Obituary: Michael James Stoermer passed away peacefully , 25 as a result of a sudden cardiac event. He was surrounded by his loving siblings Patricia Green of Columbia, MO, Marilyn Stoermer of Albuquerque, N.M., and Robert Stoermer of Orlando, FL. Michael was born in Victoria, Texas on May 23, 1946 to Julius Stoermer, Ret. USAF Col., and Jenne Fae Stoermer. Raised in Roswell, N.M. at Walker Air Force Base, he later attended and graduated from New Mexico State University. From his ROTC membership, he was commisioned into the USAF in 1969 and became an aviator, flying B-52s and F4s. He was awarded the silver star in 1975, Michael hired into Federal Express where he sustained a long and satisfying career as an airline captain. Retiring in 2005 after 30 years, he proceeded to enjoy his lifelong joys of music and sound systems, winter skiing, astronomy, swimming and diving, and driving his classic 1973 Mercedes Benz 450 SL. Joining Michael in matrimony in 1987 was Amanda Kay Sisco, pre-deceased in 2014. Together they created a residence filled with their loving pets throughout the years. Their home became a gathering place for friends and family, open to all for love of kinship. Also surviving Michael are two nephews, Alex Stoermer and Jason Green, niece Brooke Stoermer and a close family of Stoermer cousins. In-laws include Bonnie Rich, Lynn Sisco, Janice Sisco, David and Toni Sisco, Mary Beth Lawing, and many loving nieces and nephews. Michael was blessed with lifelong friends Larry Tubor, Tom Stringer, Frank Gutierrez, Tom Salazar, Gene Foster, Roger Eyster, Betty Harrison and Rob and Carol MacIvor. Memphis is handling the arrangements for cremation. In lieu of flowers, Michael would have asked that donations be made to the Memphis chapter of ASPCA.
