Obituary: Henry Calvin Sanders, resident of Indian Land, SC, passed away on 4, 2015. He was 71 years old and in the company of his loving family. Henry was born to John Wilmer Sanders and Mary Alice Sanders on 16, 1943 in Fairfield, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, served in the Air Force and National Guard for 22 years, worked as a Materials Engineer, and then worked at the Naval Air Warfare in Patuxent River, Maryland. Although Henry will be remembered fondly for so many wonderful reasons, his true legacy is that of a joyful, humble disciple of Jesus Christ. Henry was saved by grace through faith in Christ and devoted himself to living gratefully for his Savior. Whether being with his beloved Janet, spending time with his sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, flying his plane, volunteering at JAARS or serving at his church, Henry's deepest desire was to honor the Redeemer he loved so profoundly. Henry gave selflessly because Jesus gave His life for him. Henry is survived by his loving wife Janet and by his devoted sons, Fred Sanders of Charlotte, John (Kimberly) Sanders of Mechanicsville, Md., and Christopher (Robyn) Sanders of Temperance, Mich.; eight grandchildren; three cats; and countless friends who have been molded by his quiet and Godly example. Visitation will be at Harry and Bryant on , 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held , 8 at 11 a.m. at Rehobeth Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Waxhaw. Interment will take place , 11 at Salisbury National in Salisbury, North Carolina. Obituary: Henry Hank Pagen Sanders, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Patricia Lee Auld Sanders died , 7, 2015. He fought a long hard battle against cancer. He was brave and strong to the end. His Service will be held , 19, 2015 in the Gilead Baptist Church, 748 Gaffney Hwy, Jonesville, SC at 4:00 pm. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends , 9, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family will also receive friends at the church from 3:00 until time of the service. Hank was born in Jonesville, South Carolina, son of the late Preston Eugene Sanders, Sr. and Mae Ola Ivey Sanders. His accomplishments are many. He graduated from Jonesville High School in 1960 and the University of South Carolina with an MBA degree in 1967. While there he was a member and officer of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, member and officer of Blue Key Honor Fraternity, and was elected outstanding senior for his class. graduating from USC he was employed by the General Electric company for 13 years. His last position there was in advertising and promotions in the International division at Appliance Park in Louisville, KY. leaving GE he and the family moved to Hilton Head, SC where he became a financial consultant and manager for the Robinson Humphrey Co. for 10 years. The family moved again to Mount Pleasant, SC so that he could manage the offices of Prudential Securities. He was recruited by Scott and Stringfield Securities to open and manage their first branch in Charleston, SC. Two years later he was recruited by A.G. Edwards Securities,, to do the same for them. He worked for them for 8 more years and retired in 2008. He was an avid Gamecock fan and member of the Gamecock Club.He loved tailgating at Cocks Corner and rehashing the football games with his friends. He was a lifelong member of Gilead Baptist Church in Jonesville, SC and he also served in the Army national Guard. He is survived by his wife, 20 days shy of 47 years, Patricia Sanders; son Jason Kyle Sanders, daughter in law Tracy Dotolo Sanders, grandson Preston Henry Sanders; and one surviving brother, Lewis Sanders, in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Eugene Sanders and Haskell Sanders in Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gilead Baptist Church Fund, 748 Gaffney Highway, Jonesville, SC 29353. |
