Obituary: Marjorie V. Stathes, 89, of Camp Hill, passed away , 27, 2014 in Holy Spirit Hospital with her sons by her side. She was born 9, 1924 in Schenectady, NY, daughter of the late James and Anastasia (Papadopoulos) Vasiliou. Marjorie graduated from Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady, NY in 1941. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a Management Analyst with the Defense Supply Agency at the Schenectady (NY) Army Depot and the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot for over 40 years. Marjorie was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, St. Catherines Philoptochos Society and the Camp Hill Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Paul A. Stathes, in 2008. Surviving are her sons; Alec P. Stathes, his wife, Susan, of Etters, James P. Stathes of Camp Hill, Granddaughter, Jennifer Downey, her husband, Joshua, Great-Granddaughter, Delaney Downey, sister, Joan Chalachanis and several nieces and nephews. service will be conducted 12:00 p.m., , 1, 2014 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral or to St. Catherines Philoptochos Society, 1000 Yverdon Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011 |

Obituary: Nicholas "Nick" Stathas . On the morning of 9, 2015 Nick 87, of Hampden Township, passed away peacefully of natural causes. He was being comforted by family members at the Country Meadows Assisted Living facility in Mechanicsburg PA. Nick was born in Washington PA. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Isabell to whom he was married for 64 years. Surviving members of his family are his 5 children, A. Nicholas married to Karen of N Ft. Myers FL, Edward E. married to Marylin of Kalispell MT, Kathleen Stathas Rucinsky married to Joseph S. of Hampden Township, Carol Ann Stathas of Mechanicsburg PA and Christine Frazer married to David of Tampa FL. He will also be missed by his 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Nick was a proud United States Marine Disabled Veteran who served in Korea 1951-1953. In his professional life he was an insurance actuary for the Pennsylvania State Insurance Department from which he retired, after 30 years of service. which he was employed by Clearseal Systems where he earned numerous awards. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Parish in Camp Hill. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM , 11, 2015 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Trindle Rd., Camp Hill. Burial will follow immediately at the Gate of Heaven in Mechanicsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Mission, Harrisburg. |
