Obituary: Faye E. (Goodwin) Sutton was born on 14, 1925 on the family farm in Sweetwater, OK to Jim and Nelia (Worlow) Goodwin. She was the seventh of eleven children. Her mother died when she was three and her father married Vula Callan (Mema) who raised her. She helped work the farm through the dust bowl days, picking cotton and broomcorn. Her folks also ran the store at Meridian during that time. She attended Sweetwater and Meridian Schools. She graduated from Meridian High School and married Dallas M. Sutton on 7, 1944 before he left for the South Pacific during WWII. Faye worked in a defense plant in Oklahoma City building B17 Bombers for McDonnell Douglas with her cousin Wilma Fowler throughout the war. the War she and Dallas embarked on a 55 year adventure that took them from Oklahoma City to Yuma Arizona and points between. raised three children along the way and made a host of friends. She and Dallas were baptized into Christ on Mothers Day, May 10, 1992. Dallas died in 1999 she moved to Woodward, OK and has lived there ever since. She has been an active member of the Woodward Church of Christ since that time. She passed away on 7, 2014 in Amarillo, TX of complications from heart surgery. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings. She leaves behind three brothers; P.O. Goodwin of Big Lake, TX, John Goodwin and wife Harriet of Dimmitt, TX, Gene Goodwin and wife Leah of Abilene, Tx, and one sister; Flo Audrey of Mannfred, OK. Three Children; Jerry and wife JaNelle Sutton of Elk City, OK, Larry and wife Beverly Sutton of Bluejacket, OK, and daughter Donna Kay and husband Ron McCance of Woodward, OK. Seven Grandkids; Justin and wife Sheila Sutton of Elk City, OK, JaCinda and husband Russell King of Elk City, OK, Garrett Sutton of Monkey Island, OK, Gentry Sutton of Burrton, KS, Grayson and Wife Brittany Sutton of Bluejacket, OK, Dallas McCance of Edmond, OK, and Darby and husband Brad Bute of Cogar, OK; Eleven Great Grandkids and a long list of other relatives and friends. Faye loved her family, friends and Thunder Basketball. She loved her yard and flowers and most of all she loved helping others. She will be greatly missed. Services for Faye will be , 10th at 1:30 p.m. at the Martin-Dugger Chapel in Elk City, OK and internment will be at Mulberry in Sweetwater, OK.
