Obituary: Lois B. Simpson, 89, of Stow, passed away on 18. Lois was born 26, 1925 in Unionport, to Benjamin and Olga Ratzenberger. On 22, 1945, she married her true love, E. Alan Simpson, a naval radioman returning from World War II. celebrated their 69th anniversary last . Lois and Alan owned Simpsons Serview Inn located in Nottingham from 1945 until 1967. Then they moved to Freeport and operated Simpsons A&W Drive-In, home of the famous Simpburger. Lois and Alan moved to Stow in May of 2004. Lois was a member of the Nottingham and Freeport Presbyterian Churches, and attended the First Christian Church of Kent. She was also active in the VFW Auxiliary, Garden Club, Library Book Club (all of Freeport), and the Flushing Chapter of Eastern Star. In addition, Lois enjoyed working with children as an Ohio Reads Volunteer. Lois was an excellent cook, an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, gardening, bird watching, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Lois will be especially remembered for her smile and sparkling blue eyes. Survivors include her husband Alan; three daughters: Alana (Jay) Samaniego, The Woodlands, Texas; Suzie Simpson, Columbus; Becky (Jim) Dunlap, Stow; and her beloved aby brother, George (Linda) Ratzenberger, Cincinnati, and Pensacola, Florida. Lois was the proud grandmother of seven and loved her eleven great grandchildren. She was also blessed to have Julie Fortin, her long-time caretaker, whom she loved like a daughter. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and grandson David Kinsey. A memorial service was held at the Freeport Presbyterian Church on 22. Alan Simpson, and Jim and Becky Dunlap, would like to invite friends to celebrate Loiss life at their home in Stow from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on , 15. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freeport Presbyterian Church or the Nottingham Presbyterian Church. |

Simpson (nee McClung), devoted father of Shaun (Kim) of Powell, OH, Andy of Dublin, OH, and the late Sarah Simpson, dear grandfather of Emory Elizabeth and Avery Ann Simpson, dear brother of Emory Mike (Sandy) of Frisco, TX, John Pat (Kelly) Simpson of Las Vegas, NV, Holly Busse of Cincinnati, OH, also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. Tom graduated from Withrow High School in 1963 and from University of Cincinnati and he was a homebuilder for M/I s for 30 years. Tom was born in South Charleston, WV to the late Emory and Margaret Simpson. He enjoyed golf and coaching Little League in all sports and enjoyed traveling especially to the Bahamas with his family and friends. Dec. 6, 2015. Age 70 years. Residence Dublin, OH.
