Obituary: Michael J. Seitz, 62, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 8:39 p.m. , 12, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born on 5, 1954 in Lima, OH to Eldon & Joan (Brockert) Seitz. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Wapakoneta. On 28, 1984 he married Deb Snider who survives in Wapakoneta. Survivors also include 5 children; Kent Hoel of Sandusky, Diandra (Mark) Jeanneret of Lima, Julli (Mike) Griesheimer of Waynesfield, Kyla Humes of Cridersville, Dylan (Ashley) Seitz of Rushylvania, 8 grandchildren Nathan Hoel, Amber Douglas, Allie Chiles, Audesy Bice, Brayden, Boden, Brantley and Blake Humes, 5 brothers and sisters Lindy (Ted) Austin, Steve (Deb) Seitz, Chuck Seitz, Judy (Tony) Lochard and Tom Seitz. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Zaire Oliphant, 2 sisters Michelle and Barb Seitz, a brother Fred Seitz and best friend Reuben Huggins. Michael was a 1973 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School. He then graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, New York in 1977. He worked at Emerson Technologies, Sidney for 19 ½ years as the general manager chef and operating the cafeteria. Mike was a talented man who enjoyed carving ice sculptures and catering special occasions. An avid hunter and fishermen, his friends referred to him as The Game Hog. He was a member of Wapakoneta Baptist Church. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. His family believes they were the motivation behind his will to fight for so long. services will begin at 8:00 p.m. , 16, 2017 at Schlosser & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta where Rev. Eric McDunnell will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. It was Michaels wishes to have his body donated The University of Toledo Medical in hopes of finding a cure for Scleroderma. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Obituary: SEITZ, LaVerne D. (nee Dick) Beloved wife of the late William J. Seitz Jr. Loving mother of William J. Seitz III, James C. (Jeannine) Seitz and Mary Beth (Marc) Baverman. Cherished grandmother of Andrew (Meghan) Seitz, Bradley (Maria) Seitz, Laura (Clark) Rinehart, Marc Jr.(Ashley) Baverman, Amy (Mike) Babicke, Michelle Baverman and great grandmother of Margaret, Jack, Sophia, Anna, Will and Oscar. Dear sister of Betty (Werner) Jessen, the late Marion Heilmann and sister-in-law of Mary Lou Heiden. Also survived by her nieces Diane Heilmann, Carol (John) Voss, Jan Heiden, nephews Dick (Debbie) Heilmann, Werner and Paul Jessen and daughter-in-law Diane Seitz. LaVerne was an active member, elder and deacon of Westwood First Presbyterian Church. She served as president of Westwood Womans Club and a member of the Cincinnati Womans Club. While her kids grew up, she was president of the Ohio Council of PTAs and Cincinnati Council of PTAs. A proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati, she was initiated to the Mortar Board and to Kappa Delta Sorority. LaVerne was an avid bridge and tennis player and was inducted into the Western Hills High School Alumni Athletes Hall of Fame. She especially enjoyed travel and vacations with family and friends. LaVerne passed away peacefully on 4, 2016 at 89 years of age. Visitation on from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd.
