Obituary: David Colan Swink, age 86, of Conover, NC went home to be with his Lord, , 27, 2014 at his residence. Born 22, 1928 in Mecklenburg , he was the son of the late Preston C. and Annie Propst Swink. Mr. Swink owned and operated Swink Heating and Air and was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church. His passion was his work. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. David spent many years involved in Boy Scouts of America. He served in many positions and touched many young boys lives through his work. David loved Boy Scouts of America. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers. Survivors include his wife, Nora Lail Swink of the home and three sons, John David Swink, Robert Colan Swink and Bart Franklin Matthews; a sister, Patsy Swink of Lincolnton; a brother, Kenneth Swink of Lincolnton and five grandchildren, Laurin, Elena, Tyler, Alyson, and Hailey Swink. A service of remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m., , 29, 2014 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Conover. Pastor Jeff Lindsay will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery on Houston Mill Road. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 pm, prior to the service, at the church. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or to St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 3916 Springs Road, Conover, NC 28613. |

Obituary: Brehannah Noelle Piglet Swink, age 15, of Rutherfordton, died , 9, 2014 due to an auto accident. She was born 25, 1998 and was to be a sophomore at R-S Central High School this school year. She was a member of the Hilltoppers Step-Up Club at school and attended Floyds Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, photography, art and loved music. Brehannah was a very loving and kind person. She was also known for being spunky and ambitious. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Gary Epley and grandparents, Dee and Linda Hopkins. Survivors include her parents, Chad and Brianne Swink; two brothers, Hunter Swink and wife, Susie and Gage Conner; two sisters, Kayleigh Conner and Katie Suhy; paternal grandmother, Debbie Melton of Forest City; paternal grandfather, Donald Swink and wife, Janice of Harris; paternal great-grandmother, Margaret Epley of Forest City; grandparents, Mark and Yvonne Haulk and great-grandparents, Bud and Doris Harris all of Forest City. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on , 14, 2014 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Robert Carnell and Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to Harrelson , 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC to help defray funeral costs. |

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister Ruby Swink Helms; her infant brother Tommy Gene Swink and her brothers Jimmie Swink and Brady Canipe. She was a member of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church.
