Obituary: PATRICIA STEPHENS STROUPE Patricia Stephens Stroupe died on 10, 2010 at the Harris Hospice Unit at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of Eileen Lancaster Stephens and Percy H. Stephens. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Clinton Stroupe, her brother, Rodney H. Stephens, her sister, Eileen Stephens Greenwood, her brother-in-law, Dr. James B. Greenwood, Jr. and her sister-in-law, Karolen Shaw. She was born 4, 1926 in Charlotte, NC. Pat is survived by her husband, Thomas Clinton Stroupe. She attended Charlotte city schools and was a graduate of the Central High School class of 1943. She served as the first female student body President for two terms. She attended Queens as a recipient of a four year Leaders scholarship. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Stroupe Brown of Charlotte, NC, the Rev. Constance Delia Stroupe Belmore and her husband, the Rev. Kent Belmore of Las Vegas, Nevada and her daughter-in-law, Susan M. Stroupe of Florida. She was the proud grandmother of Abigail Zollinger, Betsy Wolf and Callie Brown of Charlotte, Thomas and Sarah Belmore of Las Vegas, and Duane and Jonathan Stroupe of Florida. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Ella and Luke Stroupe of Florida and Liam Zollinger of Charlotte. Pat was a loving aunt to Topsy Skinner of Wake Forest, NC. James Greenwood and his wife Pam of Charlotte, Patsy Ratterree and her husband John of Charlotte and Polly Russ and her husband Rusty of Ocean Isle Beach, NC. And Ed Shaw and his wife Nancy of Charlotte. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and cousins. Pat and her husband, Tommy, lived in Lumberton, NC where they attended Trinity Episcopal Church. She served on its Vestry and Altar Guild. Her special interest was being a Girl Scout leader for girls with disabilities. Before returning to Charlotte several years ago, she and Tommy were two of the founders of St. Peters The Fisherman Episcopal Church on the beachside of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on , 13, 2010 at St. Martins Episcopal Church, 1510 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Altar Guild Fund at St. Martins Episcopal Church. Harry and Bryant Services are serving the family. |

Obituary: Michael Theodore Stroupe, Sr. 1949- 2021 Gastonia – Michael Paintman Theodore Stroupe, Sr., 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior 8, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Gaston , born on 23, 1949 to the late Grady Eugene Stroupe and Sarah Baucom Stroupe. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Lee Phillips White and a brother Tim Stroupe. Michael was owner and operator Mike Stroupe Painting for over 40 years. He was a member of Ridge Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Deacons and drove the church bus (which he loved to drive) and he taught night services. Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon Wall Stroupe; His wonderful children, Michael Theodore Stroupe, Jr., Amber Duncan and husband Reverend Ron Duncan, and Lori Stroupe; a brother, Eddie Stroupe, sisters Crystal Stroupe, Kathy Pack and husband Kenneth; his adoring grandchildren, Erica Usinger and husband Matt, Preston Duncan, Aaron Phillips and wife Samantha, and Adia Duncan; 1 great grand, Ian Phillips, and 2 upcoming great granddaughters. Several nieces and nephews A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 p.m., , 11th at Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Terry, Reverend ChesterWaters and Reverend Ron Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hollywood with the releasing of the doves. Pallbearers will be Eddie Cortez, Hector Martinez, Leonell Donut Moreno, Michael T Stroupe, Jr, Preston Duncan, Sean Dixon and Aaron Phillips. In loving memory honorary pallbearer will be Joshua Lee Phillips White.
