Obituary: Ann Margaret Strittmater, 73, of Charlotte, passed away on 9, 2013 at home in her sleep after an extended illness. She was born 26, 1940, in La Crosse, WI. Ann graduated in 1959 from Aquinas HS in La Crosse, WI. She attended Viterbo , La Crosse, WI, and Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, TN, majoring in Art with a minor in English. Ann Nawrocke married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Strittmater in La Crosse, WI, on 10, 1961. An accomplished artist with a keen eye, Ann enjoyed drawing, painting and interior design. A devout Roman Catholic and member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Ann was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an active volunteer for her parishes in Clarksville, TN, Auburn, AL, and Charlotte, NC. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Nana to her 7 beloved grandchildren. Ann is predeceased by two daughters, Kathryn and Stacy and her parents, Albert and Kathryn Nawrocke. Ann is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Daniel Strittmater; son Jon Strittmater and daughter Sara Barnhill; daughter-in-law Martha Strittmater; son-in-law Fred Barnhill; grandchildren Patrick Strittmater, Christina Strittmater, Allison Strittmater, Freddy Barnhill, Dani Barnhill, Katie Barnhill and Jon Barnhill; sister Mary Bissen and brother Jerome Nawrocke. Visitation, immediately followed by a rosary, will be held from 6:30-8:30pm on , 11 at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28105. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on 12 at St. Matthew Catholic Church 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Charlotte, NC 28277, followed by a reception in the narthex.
