Obituary: Irene (Rene) A. Stratas, of Raleigh, North Carolina born 5, 1929 in Athens, Greece to the late Andreas and Leontia Printezis. She loved and was dedicated to her family. She is survived by husband Nicholas, her lifelong love, married in 1955 in Toronto, Canada. Three very beloved and loving sons have brought her great joy and continuing the family legacy of service to others include Nicholas, of Raleigh, an attorney, his wonderful and loving children Alexandra, Andrew, McLain, and Wilson; predeceasing her, Byron, the second son, a Wilmington ophthalmologist, his surviving and loving wife Caroline and their very loving and wonderful children Ashleyanne, Grace and Hughes of Wilmington, NC the third son, Andrew, accomplished actor also predeceased her as did her grandson Luke and her loving sister Elsa of Greece. She is also survived by her cousin Rena of Greece and sisters-in-law Mary of Port Charlotte FL and Teresa of NYC and Punta Gorda, FL She was the first child prisoner of the Nazis during the World War II German occupation of Greece, to assure the capture and imprisonment of her father, author, painter and publisher who had written an extensive expository book about Hitler and the Axis. A graduate of Arsakion and Harokopion Institute of Science of Athens, Greece, she continued her education at North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, Stoke-on-Trent, England in Hospital Administration and . Committed to helping others she served in leadership positions with Girl Scouts of Greece, Junior Red Cross, Emergency and Disaster Program of Greece, Queen Fredericka Village for Orphans and Incurable Diseases Asylum all in Athens, Greece. She was Liaison Representative for the Girl Guides of England while there. Upon her return to Greece, she served as Director of International Relations, and Organizer and Trainer for the Girl Guides of Greece and translator for the Royal Greek Admiralty. In Toronto, Canada she was organizer and leader of the Greek-Canadian Girl Scouts, interpreter for the Greek Consulate and Canadian Immigration authorities, Executive Secretary for St. Georges Hellenic Orthodox Church, Director of the Greek language school and Coordinator of Volunteers for the Greek-Canadian Community of Toronto. During this period she was the reluctant but acclaimed star in the leading and name role of the classical Greek play Meropi, a major success, broadcast and recorded for posterity by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In Raleigh, she served the Dorothea Dix Hospital Volunteer Guild in various capacities including President, Secretary, Chair of Forgotten Patients, Chair of Nominating Committee, Chair of Publicity and Public Relations, Chair of Finance and member of the Board. During her early years in Raleigh, she was active with the North Carolina and Wake Medical Alliance chairing the Mental Committee. She served a number of volunteer organizations such as Board Member of Community Group s of Raleigh, Inc. and Wake Family Services. Following the tradition of her father and grandfather, she was a very accomplished painter and author; publishing a number of articles, and an historical novel, Dual Heritage, drawing from her own life experiences. She was asked to rewrite the book in her native Greek language for publication in Greece, where it was widely acclaimed. Now remain faith, hope love, these three. Obituary: Deanna Michele Mikie Strapp was called home , 23, 2017. She was born to Wayne and Georgenette Casey in Chula Vista, CA on 25, 1947. spending her upbringing enjoying life in the Southern California Sun, she fell in love with a sailor who would spend the upcoming 48 years of his life with the greatest woman to have ever graced this Earth with her presence. Mikie did a great many things in her life that were always prioritized by family first. Never did she ask for anything beyond herself, and never did she allow anything to be put before her children. She never carried a hobby or activity that didn encompass her passion for giving, and loving the world that she was so happy to be a part of. Her unending dedication to life, happiness and the welfare of every person she ever came into contact with is impossible to match. She is survived immediately by her sons and their partners in life, Darren Matthew Strapp and Lori Fuller of Raleigh, NC, J. Casey Strapp and Kelly Howard of Seattle, WA, Ryan and Carrie Strapp of Greensboro, NC. Mikie left seven of the most beautiful grandchildren, Connor, Cameron, Patrick, Brendan, Tianna, Torie, and Logan. She is also survived by her siblings Patricia, and her husband, Steve Loyd of Bakersfield, CA, Rene Lehr of Gresham, OR, and Steven Casey of Gig Harbor, WA. Mikie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Melvin D. Strapp of New Bern NC, and her daughter Heather Michele Donham of Tualatin, OR. Obituary: Dallas Odis Ken Kenneth Strange, 82, went to be in the loving arms of Jesus on , 14, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Spartanburg , South Carolina on 22, 1939 and is the son of the late Willie and Effie Harris Strange. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 50 years, Dona Brown Strange, one brother, Grady Strange, one sister, Linda Hollar and one great grandson Dominic Webb. Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He attended Spartanburg Junior and East Tennessee University. He retired from Continental Tire after 25 years of service. Ken was an active member of Victory Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was the First Commander of AWANA at Brookleigh Baptist Church. He was active in Mission Work and he loved to travel. Ken is survived by his wife of 8 years, Joy Boling Strange; one daughter, Sandi Heavener and husband Bill; one son, Rodney Strange and wife Susan; one step-son, Keith Boling; one step-daughter, Nelda Humphries and husband Jerry; 6 grandchildren, Mary Webb and husband David, Samantha Strange, Chris Harwell and wife Barbara, Trey Heavener, Tori Anthony and husband Lamar, Lexi Heavener; 10 great grandchildren, Andrew Strange, Bethany Strange, Mary Strange, Darien Webb, Paislee Harwell, Blakely Harwell, Rosie Harwell, Oliver Harwell, Leila Anthony, Raegan Anthony. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. , 17, 2021 at Victory Baptist Church, 1101 Lynhaven Drive, Gastonia with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
