Obituary: Robert Dean Stanley Sr., 78, of Castle Hayne, passed away on , 13, 2016 at his home. Mr. Stanley was born 21, 1938 in Myrtle Beach, SC, the son of the late Elisha Maryland Stanley and Annie Blanche Johnson Stanley. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve and was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Mr. Stanley worked his entire life in the landscaping business. He was the owner and operator of Robert D. Stanley Landscaping Co., Inc., which has been in business since 1946. His proudest moments were spent with his family. A true outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He always grew enough vegetables to share with friends and neighbors. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy Marie Hobbs Stanley. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Stanley, a son, Robert Dean Stanley, Jr. and wife Lucrecia of Burgaw; three daughters, Kim Siebert and husband Eric of Burgaw, Renee Bass and husband Jimmy of Castle Hayne, and Allyson Lawrence of Holly Springs; two step-daughters, Terri Champion and husband Robbie of Conway, SC and Dawn Ames and wife Connie of Wilmington; brothers, Joseph Bridger of Mobile, AL and Frank Stanley and wife Sammie of North Charleston, SC; a sister, Edith Jobe of Mobile, AL; ten grandchildren, Missy, Mandy, Heather, Tony, Will, Lauren, Brett, Cole, Kristina, and Dylan; eleven great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Jane Porter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm evening at Coble Ward - Smith . A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Lewis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wrightsboro Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2736 Castle Hayne Rd, Wilmington, NC 28401. |

Obituary: Robert, to his family and friends in Raleigh and Bob to his friends at the beach, passed away , 29, 2016 at his home in Cedar Point surrounded by his loving and caring family. Robert was born in Johnston on 25, 1941 to the late Robert A. Stanley and Mae Chapman Stanley. He married the love of his life, Joyce May Stanley on 1, 1983. Robert retired in 1995 as a Captain with the City of Raleigh Fire Department. He loved old cars and golf. Bob worked and played at Star Hill Golf Course for 20 years after he retired from the fire department. A service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 pm, , 5, 2016 at L. Harold Poole Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545 with the City of Raleigh Fire Department Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place following the service at Fair View Town , E. Green Street and S. Chavis Street, Franklinton, NC 27525 He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Joyce May Holmes Stanley; son, Robert Brian Stanley of Clayton; daughter, Janet Stanley Tart and her husband Trey of Knightdale; step-sons: Richard R. Holmes, Jr. and his wife, Alesa of Wake Forest, Dwight B. Holmes, CMSgt, USAF, (Ret.) and his wife Daphne of Stanfield; grandchildren: Kyle Stanley, Justin Tart, Rebecca Tart, Jessica Holmes Kirkland and her husband Shawn of Fuquay-Varina, Cassie Holmes Lambert and her husband Daniel of Dayton, OH, Katie Holmes of Stanfield; great-grandson, Jack Byron Lambert; sister, Jean Zeblo of Rolesville; brother, Raymond Stanley of Clayton; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends; special sister-in-law, Lois May Jones, whom he called his second mother. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm at the funeral home. He was a special and faithful friend to so many. We want to express our appreciation for all the acts of kindness, for prayers said, cards, food, phone calls and the many visits shown to our family the last two years. Our God and our family and friends have seen us through these difficult times. To everyone we give you thanks from our grateful hearts. Robert has requested contributions be made to your local Salvation Army in his memory. |

Obituary: Mr. Ralph Patrick Stanley, Jr., son of the late Ralph and Mildred Stanley, Sr., died 7, 2015 at Carolinas Medical - Mercy in Charlotte, NC. Patrick, as he was known, was a quiet man who loved gardening, the outdoors and NASCAR. Patrick was also fond of his son-in-laws aqua 1968 Ford pick-up truck. He was an avid fan of the late Dale Earnhardt. Patrick entered the U.S. Army in his youth and attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He was honored to be selected as a part of the honor guard for President Dwight D. Eisenhowers funeral in 1969. On 3, 1968, he married the love of his life, Barbara Benton. Those that are left to cherish his memories include his wife of forty six years, Barbara Stanley; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Patrick Ferguson of Indian Trail, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Mickey Little of Denver, NC; and two grand-dogs, Jake and Sparky. service will be held , 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Mausoleum of Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
