Obituary: Leicester, Robert Everett Bob Stamey, age 76, passed away on , 2, 2015 at the VA Medical . A native of Haywood , he was the son of the late Hilliard and Catherine Stamey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Thomas Stamey, who died in 2013, a son, Todd Stamey and a brother, Dennis Stamey. Bob was a US Air Force veteran and later employed at AMF-Reece Manufacturing where he was Director of Manufacturing and Training. He was a member and deacon of Redmon Baptist Church. Bob is survived by a sister, Carolyn Winderbaum and her husband, Don, of Merrick, New York; two granddaughters, Cheryl Stamey Smith and Christina Stamey; one great-granson, Aiden Meadows, all of Richmond, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews whom he was most proud of their respective accomplishments. services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on , 7, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells with Reverend Chris Wilmoth officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on at the funeral home, Memorials may be made to Redmon Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1176, Marshall, NC 28753 |
