Obituary: Bobby Ray Spivey, 81, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on 13, 2015. He was born in Kannapolis, NC on May 7, 1934, son to the late Eddie Lee and Rabie Sides Spivey. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Furr and Louise Roberts. Bobby started his military career in the U.S Navy but retired proudly from the U.S. Air Force after 21 dedicated years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Bobby is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred Williams Spivey and son, Joseph Daryl Spivey. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on , 16, 2015 at Coble Ward-Smith , 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. Service will be held at 11am on , 17, 2105 at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church, 800 Piner Road, Wilmington, NC 28409. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Williams Family , Williams Rd, Wilmington, NC 28409. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church. Obituary: Arthur Calvin AC Spivey, 88, passed away suddenly at Wake Med on 31, 2016. AC was born in Wayne to the late William Arthur Spivey and Lula Whitley Spivey. He honorably served his country in the US Navy. He was married to the late Wilma Massey Spivey. AC sold heavy equipment parts 18 years for Gregory Poole and 23 years with Wilson-Finley companies. AC had friends far and wide, he never met a stranger. He always had a sunny outlook on life, even in the last months of his life. AC was wonderful cook and provider for his family, friends and sometimes even strangers. His care, concern and love will be greatly missed. A service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 pm, , 4, 2016 at L. Harold Poole Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. Burial will follow at the Kenly Town , Kenly, NC, 27542 with Military Honors. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, , 3, 2016 at the funeral home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: special friend and companion for 34 years, Margaret Wood McLamb; Margarets children: Judy Hohlfeldt, Ronnie, Ernie and Todd McLamb; granddaughter, Brianna Collins and her family; brothers: Paul Spivey, Robert Spivey both of Raleigh; sisters: Betty S. Benson of Fayetteville, Bertha S. Campbell of Smithfield, Geneva S. Wall Spivey of Trenton, Shirley S. Brown of Princeton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by grandson, Micah Pearce; brother, William Ray Spivey; sister, Alene S. Radford. |
