Obituary: Waynesville, Donald Edward Singleton, age 81, passed away on , 9, 2015 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood , he was the son of the late Guy and Lois Rogers Singleton. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Sue Singleton, who died on 26, 2015; a son, Evan Singleton; and three brothers, Bruce, Roger and Gary Singleton. He was a US Air Force veteran and retired from Champion International in 1998 as a supervisor with 40 years of service. Don enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and traveling to Texas to visit family. He was a member and deacon of Junaluska First Baptist Church. He will be remembered for being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Don is survived by two sons, Terry Singleton and his wife, Sheila, and Billy Singleton and his wife, Beverly; a sister, Cleta Franklin; three brothers, Steve Singleton and his wife, Linda, Dale Singleton and his wife, Evan Nell, and Dean Singleton and his wife, Mary; and four grandchildren, Colby, Cameron, Kaleigh and Caleb Singleton. services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on , 12, 2015 at Junaluska First Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Huey, Reverend Chris Willett and Reverend Barry Willett officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 13 at Green Hill . The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Obituary: Candler – Berdell Elliott Singleton, age 94, passed away on , 28, 2015 at Asheville and Rehab . A native of Snohomish , Washington, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Bertha Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Claude Singleton, who died in 1983; four sisters; one brother; one granddaughter; and one grandson. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Singleton Canipe (Steve) and Kay Singleton Booher (Randy), all of Candler; three sons, Reverend Warren Elliott (Thelma), of Columbus; Doug Singleton and James Singleton, both of Leicester; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. services will be held at 3:00 p.m. , 31, 2015 at Woodland Terrace Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Marc Penley, Reverend Dean Elliott, and Reverend Warren Elliott officiating.
