Obituary: Charles Jerry Shook 1941- 2021 Gastonia – Charles Jerry Shook, 80 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Cleveland , born on 4, 1941, to the late Marion James and Lena Moore Shook. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Shook, his brothers, Harold, Jimmy, and an infant brother. Charles enjoyed spending time at church and with his buddy, Preacher Marvin. He also enjoyed his friends at Hardees, visiting his family, going to yard sales, and spending time at his brother-in-law, James Chambers car lot. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Charles was a dedicated member of Clover First Free Will Baptist Church. He retired from Firestone after 24 years of dedicated service and later worked at Mikeall for over 12 years. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of almost 56 years, Betty Chambers Shook; his children, Jane (Mike) Jones, Robert (Jeannie) Shook, Charles Shook and Angie (Tony) James; ten grandchildren, Amber (Steve) Sesnick, Chris (Paige) Jones, Tiffany (Latt) Ormand, Matthew (Heather) James, C.J. Shook, Hunter Shook, Jimmy Shook, Bobby Joe Shook, Katie Dean and Andrew Shook and thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother Johnny (Louise) Shook and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., , 9th at Free Will Baptist Church, 307 Valley Ave, Clover, SC 29710 A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m., , 10th at First Free Will Baptist Church, Clover with Reverend Marvin Carson, Reverend James Chambers and Reverend Ronnie Dale officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Prayer section with military honors by the Gaston Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Matthew James, C.J. Shook, Jimmy Shook, Latt Ormand, Andrew Shook, Hunter Shook, and Tony James.
