Obituary: Mrs. Ruby Mae Grenne Setzer, 86, of Connelly Springs, passed away on , 18, 2021 at Burke Hospice & Palliative , following a period of declining health. Ruby was born on May 24, 1935 in McDowell to the late Rony Greene and Anthy Turnmire Greene. She was a retired folder in the hosiery industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Porter Buck Setzer, one son, Junior Crane, a daughter, Karen Crane, grandson, Jeff Deal, four granddaughters; Tonia Crane, Kathy Gouge, Tina Hildebran and Crystal Jones, and three great-grandsons; Justin Bubba Deal, Christopher Jones and Donnie Jones. Survivors include two sons, David Crane and wife Peggy, Tim Crane, and a daughter, Anita Banks. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Katrinka Propst and husband Rev. James, Travis Helton and wife Stephanie, Angelica Crane, Amber Mayfield and husband John, Wayne Greer and wife Heather, Ronnie Jones, Jerry Tootie Jones, Linda Jo Shore and husband Shannon, John Crane and wife Kristen, Matthew Crane and wife Nikki, Danny Gouge and wife Peewee, and a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. services will be held on , 23, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in Chapel of Heritage Service with Rev. Mr. Setzer was born 26, 1971, in Catawba , to Richard Setzer and Patsy Willis Setzer. He attended Winklers Grove Baptist Church and was employed with Annas Awning of Hickory. Survivors include one brother, Tom Setzer of Hickory; two sisters Misty Watson and husband Gary of Hickory, and Mandy Setzer of Hickory; three nephews, Jake and Joseph Watson, Hunter Lewis; two nieces, Gracie Watson and Abigail Setzer; two special aunts Doris Stowe and Betty Lynn; and numerous uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, , 24, 2015 at Winklers Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Dale Faulkenbury officiating. Interment will follow at Brookford with John Wooten, Bobby Lewis, Jake Watson, Billy Sheets, Steve Kannup, and Kenny Lynn serving as pallbearers, with honorary pallbearers, Timmy Willis, Gary Watson, Joesph Watson, and Hunter Lewis. Obituary: Peggy Mills Setzer, age 75, passed away on , 9, 2014 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace in Asheville. A lifelong resident of Haywood , she was the daughter of the late J.G. Buster and Edith Mae Corn Mills. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Setzer, who died in 2001; and a granddaughter, Leah Setzer, who died in 2004. Peggy was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church where she was involved with the WMU, Disaster Relief, and Carpenters Hands Ministry with Mud Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Denese Kastle and her husband, Ssg. John F. Pauline worked as credit manager at Ridgeview Hosiery and retired in 1983. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Kenneth Glenn Setzer; 2 daughters, Karen Blevins and husband, Bill of Lake Mary, FL, and Lisa Brittain and husband, Kirk of Hickory; grandchildren, Adrian Blevins Griffin and husband, Ronald, Kenneth Clark Kacy Blevins, Hannah Alexander Robinson, Lexie Glenn Robinson; great-grandchildren, Emma Griffin and Carter Griffin.
