Obituary: Mrs. Cora Absher Setzer, 77, of Lenoir, NC, passed away, , 28, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative in Lenoir, NC. She was born in Wilkes on May 31, 1933 to the late Dewey P. and Bertha Handy Absher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Delon Setzer; brothers, Cecil, Mack, Lyddy, and Dewey Absher; sisters, Eva Teague, Josie Adams, Ozie Adams and Betty Adkins. Survivors include three daughters, Doris S. Wallace of Lenoir, NC and Lois Setzer, and Joyce S. Price, both of Collettsville, NC; one brother, Johnny Absher of Hudson; and one sister, Wanda Absher of Lenoir, NC; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, John Byrd. Mrs. Setzer was a member of South Lenoir Church of God. She was retired from Bernhardt, Plant #7, where she was a seamstress. services for Mrs. Setzer will be held , May 1, 2011 at 3:00 pm in Pendrys Chapel with the Reverend Michael Carswell and the Reverend Ernest Bowes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Eddie and Tim Wallace, Aaron Hartley, Matt and Chad Price, and Isaac Harmon. Memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative , 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645, and /or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 169, Lenoir, NC 28645.
