Obituary: Shirley Ann Taylor Seawell, 82, a resident of Franklin and former resident of Greensboro passed away on 4, 2016 at her home. She was born 3, 1934 in Greensboro, the daughter of Edward and Thelma Martin Taylor. Shirley was employed with Piedmont Lanes for a number of years and along with her late husband Sam Seawell operated a Wilco Station in Greensboro. While a resident of Greensboro she attended Shinning Light Baptist Church. She was married to Sam James Seawell who preceded her in death on 11, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Artis Taylor. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Vicki S. Corbett and husband Dale of Franklin; brother, James E. Taylor and wife Barbara of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Bryan Hale, Mark Hale, Adam Parker, Jennifer Parker; great grandchildren, Brook, J.J., Emilee, William and one great great grandchild. services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Jamie Stevenson. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on from 1:00 p.m. until service time. |

Obituary: Ray Seawell, of the Putnam community of Moore died one day before his 90th birthday at Peak Resource - Pinelake in Carthage. A natural green burial graveside service will be held at his home morning at 11:00. A native of Moore he was a son of the late Hulen Ray Seawell and Effie Ethel Hughes Seawell. He was a farmer most of his life and did various other jobs as well. Mr. Seawell never married and was a simple man who never wanted for much. He was preceded in death by: a brother Henry Seawell and a sister Lucille Shields. He is survived by: brothers Eugene Seawell, Robert Seawell, Floyd Seawell and Gurney Seawell all of Carthage; a sister Helen Thomas of Sanford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
