Obituary: Nell Porter "Nootie" Schronce-- Mrs. Schronce, age 81, of Matthews, a loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend, passed peacefully into her loving Saviors arms on evening, 10, 2016 at her home. Nell was the daughter of the late Dock E. Porter and Irene Player Porter. She was preceded in death by her soul-mate and husband, James Ronald Schronce, her sisters Lucille P. George, Gladys P. Gordon, Katherine P. Hill, Jimmie P. McCraney, and brothers D.J. Porter and Lowell Buck Porter. Nell, known to family and friends as Nootie, was born on May 22, 1934. She was born and raised in Indian Trail, NC. She graduated from Indian Trail School and later from Richardson Beauty School. Not only was she beautiful on the inside but also on the outside as witnessed when she was crowned Miss Indian Trail in 1953. She was employed for many years at Maryland Casualty Insurance before having her children. Nell was nurturing, loving, hardworking, loyal, compassionate, generous, and the life of the party. She maintained her sense of humor through it all. She loved to garden, cook, laugh and dance and enjoyed nothing more than being at home with her family. Because of Mama, our home was the house on the block where all the kids gathered. She played games with us, she always made time for us and listened to us, she always had something delicious cooking on the stove and treats for all the kids on the block. She was the caregiver to many during our years living in Jacksonville, FL. Mama was a homeroom mother every single year when her children were school age. She made sure that her children were in church every to serve the Lord. And, she never missed a dance recital or ball game. Her children were always top priority. Mama, Nana will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Mrs. Schronce leaves behind her son, Gregory Scott Schronce of Charlotte, her daughters, Scarlette S. Weaver and husband Benjamin of Charlotte and Debra S. Kitler and husband Rick and daughter Ericka Kitler of Jacksonville, FL and the apples of her eye, grandsons Gabriel Porter Weaver and Lucas James Weaver. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 on , 15, 2016 at McEwen Service at Sharon Memorial Park, located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel, conducted by Minister Armando Perdamo. Entombment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum. Obituary: Victoria Schoolfield Schroll, 67, passed away peacefully, 26, 2015 at Clapps after several years of declining health. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be at 1 PM, , 28 at Lakeview Memorial Park. Victoria was born in Forsyth to Carl and Cleo Watkins Schoolfield. She was a member of St. Paul UMC for approximately 10 years and took part in planning church meals and functions. She married the love of her life, Robert Schroll, in 1982 and celebrated their loving union for 30 years before his death in 2012. were absolutely devoted to one another. Together they owned and operated DecoSport. The other joys in her life are her two children. She was a supportive involved mother in various school, sport and community activities with her children. Victoria was the family planner and took great joy in creating those special touches to make every event memorable. She was an active member in the Republican Womens Club and was honored and excited to spend time with President and Mrs. Reagan. Victoria was an animal lover and cherished her canine companions. She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Brandon and Cammie Schroll of McLeansville and Ashley Schroll and John Meyer of Greensboro; mother, Cleo Schoolfield of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Kayla Meyer and Christopher and Elaine Cope; step daughters, Helen and David Cope and Susan Schroll; and several treasured friends. In addition to her father and husband she is preceded in death by her father-in-law, S. Lawrence Schroll. The family would like to thank the staff of Clapps for their compassionate care of Victoria during her stay.
