Obituary: Sydney Francis Saunders III Sonny was born 5, 1948 in the Bronx NY to Angelina Scott and the late Sydney F. Saunders II. Sonny was educated in the Bronx, NY public school and graduated from Aviation High School in Queens NY. Upon graduation from Aviation High School, Sonny then embarked on the career of his Dreams as an aeronautical mechanic at Pan Am Airlines. On the closing of Pan Am, He then attended Helen Fuld School of and pursued a career in until his retirement in 2010. Sydney and Yolanda relocated to Charlotte NC in 1991. Sydney was married to Yolanda Pryor on 16, 1993. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Yolanda, his mother Angelina Scott, his sisters Angelena Broomfield of NY, Karen Scott Lee of FL, his children Sydney F Saunders IV of MD, Melaine Saunders Varnadore of NC, Lorreen Saunders Sample of NC, Eugene Pryor and Lebron Pryor of NC and Brian Bell of NY, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that loved him dearly. Obituary: Ruth Dennis Saunders, 94, of 192 Sunset Hills Rd. went home to Jesus and loved ones on 3, 2016. Ruth was born 25, 1921 in Montgomery . Ruth was the daughter of the late Randall and Ola Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Belton Ray Saunders; son, Belton Ray Saunders, Jr.; brothers, Frank, Max, Reese and James Dennis; sisters, Ethel Blake and Bonnie Morris. Ruth was a faithful member of the First Wesleyan Church in Robbins. She was employed by the Robbins textile mill and Southern Garment. Ruth is remembered for her cooking, love of growing flowers (gladiolas), and canning her vegetables. Loving God and family was her purpose in life. Ruth is survived by: daughters Elizabeth Key and husband Gilbert of Robbins; Yvonne Miller and husband Barry of Galax, VA; Annette VonCannon and husband Chad of High Point; daughter-in-law Judy Saunders Stokes and husband Billy of Snead’s Ferry; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters Blanche Harris and husband Clayton, Marie Morris, Rebecca Dunn and husband Hughes, all of Troy; brothers Ira Dennis, Jesse Dennis and wife Mary Ellen, all of Troy. The family will receive friends , 7 from 1:00-3:00 pm, with the service following at 3pm. Both services will be held at First Wesleyan Church in Robbins, NC, conducted by Rev. Sam Swinney, Rev. Wilson Harris, and Rev. Barry Miller. Interment will follow at Pine Rest . Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, PO Box 397, Robbins, NC 27325. Kennedy is serving the Saunders family.
