Obituary: Frank Slesinski of Goshen, NY, a retired carpenter, entered into rest on , 09, 2016. He was 92. The son of the late Frank Slesinski & Stephanie Wieczek, he was born 27, 1923 in Goshen, NY. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran where he served as 1st Lieutenant, flying the first two of his thirty-five missions over Normandy on D-Day. finishing his service in Europe he returned stateside and completed active duty at the rank of Captain. In civilian life Frank served the Goshen community by twice being elected to the Goshen Central School District School Board in the early 1960s. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and was a faithful fan watching them play their sports for many years. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Katherine Lempka Slesinski of Goshen; son, Donald Slesinski & wife Patricia of Middletown, NY; son, Michael Spencer & wife Gwen of Port Gamble WA; 3 grandchildren, Jill & Jennifer Slesinski and J.K. Spencer; sister, Antoinette Wood of Goshen, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Obituary: Daniel Slesinski of Goshen, NY, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on , 1, 2015. He was 93. The son of the late Frank Slesinski & Stephanie Wiecek Slesinski, he was born 15, 1922 in Goshen, NY. A lifelong resident of Goshen, Daniel was a former dairy farmer along with his nephew, Richard Slesinski, which they shared many hard working years farming until 1987. At that time they went into the hay business and was well known for raising and selling pigs. Up until the age of 90, Daniels passion of farming was mowing and bailing hay. He was a loving husband and father and will be forever missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat of Goshen; sons, Daniel Slesinski & Darlene of Goshen; Bruce Slesinski and wife Bonnie of Goshen; daughters, Barbara Geer of Westtown; Joanne Slesinski of Wolf Lake; stepsons, Tony Shropshire of Indiana; Greg Shropshire of Hawaii; Jeff Shropshire of Goshen; stepdaughters, Gina Havens of Westtown; Lori Fairchild of Maryland; brother, Frank Slesinski and wife Catherine of Goshen; sister, Antoinette Wood of Goshen; 7 Grandsons, 4 Granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene Mally Slesinski; brother, Edward Slesinski; sister in law, Janet Slesinski; brother in law, George Wood, 2 nephews, Leon Slesinski and George Wood Jr.; and stepson, Gordon Shropshire. Donations may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, New York 14432. Jeanette was born on 3, 1951, daughter of Harold and Elizabeth Betty Kimber of Irondequoit. She spent her childhood attending Jose Rogers Elementary School and West Irondequoit High School. Jeanette attended SUNY Empire State earning her BS degree in Social Sciences. marrying Stephen Sleight on 15, 1979, they moved to Newark where Jeanette had relatives, they hoped to live out the rural lifestyle. Jeanette raised her two children, Elizabeth and Jacob while embarking on her lifelong love of learning and doing new things. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, painting, gardening, raising animals, cooking and bird watching especially. She loved to watch the birds and identify them by their songs. Jeanette had many careers while keeping a close watch on her family. She was coordinator of Emergencey Youth Housing in Wayne , she was a substitute teacher, co-owned a wallpaper and interior painting business for a few years as well as being a mason helper and making stained glass. Jeanette loved and was very proud of her friends and family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Stephen, their daughter Elizabeth, son Jacob: his wife Erin and grandchildren Lucas, Nathan, Josslyn and Clara all of Newark; two sisters Rebecca and Dorothy Bouille and their families |
