Obituary: Lloyd Silverthorn was born on 13, 1926 in Yale, Michigan. He is the son of Evangeline (nee Hydorn) and Lloyd William Silverthorn. Lloyd died peacefully on , 2, 2017 at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Lloyd was an honest and hardworking gentleman that was loved by all. He was a soft spoken person. But at times would speak his heart because it was the right thing to do. Lloyd was a carpenter and he built his own house. He also remodeled his house a few times for his true love, his wife Kathleen. met at Kathleens birthday party when she turned 16. Lloyd was also a deacon and a school teacher for many years. He would also dress up as Abraham Lincoln and go to various schools. He would then recite the Gettysburg address that he had memorized. Beloved husband of Kathleen for 69 years. Loving father of Renee Silverthorn, Bonnie (Thomas) Bartlett, Kathleen (Carl) Bulak, and Bruce (Karen) Silverthorn. Wonderful grandfather of Lesley (Jeff) Samulski, Lisa (David) Parrill, Michael Malinowski, Aaron Bartlett, Kelli Bartlett, Andrew (Laura) Silverthorn, Patrick Silverthorn, Ryan Silverthorn, and the late Evangeline Bartlett. Great-grandfather of Hadley Samulski, Erika Samulski, Justice Samulski, and Lucas Malinowski. Brother of the late Barabara, Marion Ellen, and Gordon. Obituary: Was born on 9, 1927 in Hazel Park, Michigan and went to his eternal reward on , 21, 2015 at the age of 87. Reverend Silvernail served in the U.S. Army of Occupation where he met his first wife, Jean Miwako Kawakita, who died in 2005. completing his military service he attended North Central and Evangelical Theological Seminary and was ordained by the Evangelical United Brethren Church. He served Churches in Niles- Portage Prairie and Waterloo area, where he also earned a Masters Degree in guidance and counseling from Michigan State University. He was then employed by the Disability Determination Services for 36 years. He is survived by his second wife, Florence and two daughters, Sherry (Dave) Eichler and Dawn Kraus; three grandsons, Joshua (Katie) Eichler, Jason (Larae) Eichler and Joseph Benard Sr.; five great grandchildren, Joseph (Rachel) Benard Jr., Emily, Jacob, Natalie and Noah Eichler; three great-great granddaughters, Alexandria, Layla and Joslyn Benard. A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church (925 Backus St. Jackson 49201) on , 25, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.
