Obituary: Agnes Sikorski, age 102, died peacefully on 14, 2016 at Shorepointe in St. Clair Shores. Agnes was born on 26, 1914 in Detroit, the daughter of Alessio and Maria Gizzi. Agnes enjoyed cooking and sewing in her younger years. She was a member of the San Giovani Baptiste Womens Society. She is survived by her three sons; John Sikorski (Susan Mitchell), Edmund Sikorski and Paul Sikorski (Elaine); six grandchildren; Gregory, Santine, Shauna, Gianluigi (Christina), Monique and Alexander; and one great-granddaughter, Annika. She was predeceased by her husband Edmund J. and a son, Jerome. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on , 12, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 467 Fairford Road at Morningside in Grosse Pointe Woods. The family will receive friends at the Church after 9:00 a.m. |

Obituary: Chester Albert Sikora, age 82 of Warren, died , 30, 2015 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb in Warren. He was born 1, 1933 in Detroit, son of the late Jan and the late Anna (nee: Rybczynski) Sikora. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Chester for his service to our country during the Korean War era. As a soldier in the U.S. Army, he attained the rank of Technical Sergeant and was part of the Heavy Mortar , 65th Infantry. A decorated veteran and proud American, Chester served with patriotism and bravery, and was willing to stand in harms way on behalf of freedoms cause. We honor his service and extend our posthumous gratitude for wearing the uniform and standing tall for the red, white & blue. Following his time overseas, Chesters return home found him eager to further the camaraderie that was started with his fellow soldiers,...so he joined the fraternal brotherhood of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4162 in Hamtramck, Michigan. For many years, this group of patriots provided Chester a welcomed source of friendship that was enjoyed with each coming together to reminisce. And not only was he a member of the VFW, he was also an esteemed past Commander of the post as well. An electrician by trade, Chester was quite proud of the many years of dedicated and loyal service he extended as an employee of Henry Ford Hospital System. a rewarding 42 years on the job, he finally decided to accept his well-deserved retirement and said good-bye to punching clocks and harried commutes. When he wasn working, Chester was known for being the life of the party and always doing his best to make others lives happy. Possessing the trait of a jokester, he knew that lifes best medicine was laughter and he was forever ready with a large dose to share. In telling the story of Chester, it just wouldn be complete without recounting the beautiful love story he shared with his beloved Lucille, a relationship they shared for over 57 years. Affectionately known as childhood sweethearts, their beginnings came at the young age of 9 when Chester took her bike,...therein grabbing her attention. From there, everything simply blossomed until the day came when he stole her heart,...which garnered her attention for the rest of their lives together. First came the I Dos...then the children,...and ultimately an extended family that would provide Chester with countless hours of pleasure and memories to embrace for always. His family meant the world to him, and each moment in their company brought his heart and life joy beyond expression. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be honored, remembered, and held closely for all eternity,...a life that will be missed immensely. Chester was the beloved husband of the late Lucille. Dear father of Kris, John (Debbie), Jean (Mitch), Diane (Chris) Ackerman, and Barbara (Donald) Brecht. Brother of Lawrence (Shirley) Sikora, and brother-in-law of Elaine Sikora. Loving grandfather of Matt, Nicole, Teri, James, Brianna, and David. A Memorial Visitation for Chester will be held on , 1st from 4-8pm, with a 7pm Memorial Service, at the D.S.
