Obituary: Schotthoefer, Dolores. 12, 2016, Age 86 of Rochester Hills, MI. Loving mother of Thomas (Tracy), Jeana (Daniel) Elmore, and the late infant child Schotthoefer. Loving grandmother of Nikkole, Carl, Erik, Colin and Bridget. Dearest sister of Mary Ellen (Robert) Yirovec. Preceded in death by beloved brothers Thomas, Michael, and Patrick, and her husband of 25 years, Eugene. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews from coast to coast, with beautiful families and adventures of their own whom Dolores cherished always. Dolores Marie Downey was born to the late Dorothea (nee Holland) and Stephen Joseph Downey in Detroit, MI, 1930. Living part of her childhood years in Traverse City, MI, she later attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church and School. In 1951, she married Eugene Schotthoefer. Over the years, sharing her creative talents including portrait painting, a master of confectionary roses, making beautiful cakes for any occasion. Dolores celebrated with exuberant joy the Lords gift of everyone she met as well as the many natural and historical wonders of Michigan and the wider world. A passionate researcher of genealogy long before the digital age, her diligence took her to St. Columban, Ontario, where her paternal great, great grandmother was married, and put her on a long-standing first-name basis with several clerks of the National Archives at St. Louis, where her maternal grandparents met at the 1904 Worlds Fair, beginning their courtship on the grand ferris wheel itself. Obituary: Virginia Christena Tootie Schott, 92, of Marysville, died on , 8, 2016. She was born on May 16, 1924 in Austin Twp. MI. to the late Marshall and Elsie Shagena. Tootie was one of five children. She married Michael Schott and they raised five children together. Tootie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had the most generous, loving heart, always putting others before herself and touched so many lives with her presence. Her wit, sense of humor and warmth shined through. What made her the happiest was being surrounded by family and friends whatever the reason. Visitors would often catch her enjoying playing cards or dice games, with her children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren and she would certainly play to win. She also enjoyed polka music, going to bingo or trying her luck at the casino with family and friends. Tootie greeted everyone with a sparkle in her eye and warm smile, making you feel right at home with her sweet, kind spirit. We are all thankful for the gift that was her life and she will be missed dearly. She is survived by three children, Robert Schott, Joanne (Larry) Campbell and Michelle (Victor) Rebenock; five grandchildren, Renee Schott, Jodie Schott, Todd Campbell, Kyle Rebenock and Alicia Rebenock; a sister, Maxine (Bill) Green; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was greeted at heavens door by her husband, Michael; two sons, Ronald and David Schott; grandson, Doug Campbell; and siblings, Virgil and Curtis Shagena and Thelma Goheen. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. on , 12, 2016 at the Marysville , 1200 Michigan Ave., followed by the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
