Obituary: SAMPLE, RUTH C. Beloved wife of David Sample of 66 years, longtime resident of Dearborn, passed away peacefully on 9th, 2015 in the loving care of her family at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her father Andrew, mother Sara, and brother David and is survived by her husband David; sons Douglas, (Sue) Kirk, (Bonnie) Todd, (Heather) Ross (Sue) and Brice; her daughter Wendy, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many friends. She was active in the community and a member of the Dearborn School Board for 13 years. In addition to raising six children, she found time to be creative. She was an avid sewer and knitter, loved to can fruits and vegetable, enjoyed traveling and her trips to the casino with David. Ruth was a thoughtful, caring woman who put others before her. Many will miss her presence. Obituary: Gloria A. Sample Vermontville, formerly of Lansing, MI Age 79, died 17, 2015; born 11, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan to Donald and Ellen Sell. Gloria loved quilting and sewing. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother who loved and cherished her grandchildren, and the family get togethers. She enjoyed her winters in Florida. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Darwyn, of 44 years and her parents. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathie (John) Perez, Karen Connor, Karol (Bruce Frank) Sample, Kristine (Gary) Gilson; 14 grandchildren, Jeremy Hetherington, Casey Hetherington, Maria Perez, Arriannah Perez, Michael (Melissa) Connor, Karrie (Tom) Rice, Ryan (Kellie) Connor, Heather (Shaun) Rice, Jeannie Thompson, Kristina (James) Hurley, Jonathan Thompson, Nikki (Ben) Wilson, Joseph (Kelsey) James, Nolan Gilson; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Erma) Sell; sister, Lois (William) Coutcher and several nieces and nephews. Obituary: David and Ruth Sample, married 66 years and longtime residents of Dearborn passed away on May 8th and 9th at the ages of 92 and 90 respectively. were preceded in death by David’s siblings William Sample, Mary Ann Ritter and Walter Sample and Ruth’s brother David Stewart. are survived by their children Douglas (Sue), Wendy, Kirk (Bonnie), Todd (Heather), Ross (Suzanne) and Brice, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. David will be missed by his only surviving brother Richard (Raeleen). David was active in the community and a longtime member of the Dearborn Rotary. Obituary: Barbara Ann Sampier, 77, of Algonac, died , 17, 2017. She was born 3, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Gordon F. and Beatrice M. Haydett. She was married to Robert Bob Sampier for 40 years before his death. Barbara and her husband owned Boat Moving Engineers/Marine Trucking. She was a lifetime member of the Fred Quant VFW Post 3901 Auxiliary, enjoyed her prayer group, playing Bingo, penuchle, and the lottery, and going to casinos. Most important to her was family, especially her grandchildren, and her family doctor, Dr. John P. Mullally. She always treated everyone like her own. We will always remember her favorite quote, I love you with all of my heart and the fact that she called each of us and sang Happy Birthday. She is survived by four children, Edward (Cathy) Stockwell, Janet (Rick) Randall, Sharon (Dennis) Frasier, and Robb (Jeanne) Sampier; grandchildren, Eddie Stockwell Jr., Crista (Leo) Russo, J. Travis Duceatt (Missy Morrison), Whitney (Matt) Soumis, Karla Stinson (Sergey Sobolev), Holly (Alex) Remsing, Ricky Randall, Stephanie (Rob) Brown, Amanda (Ryan) McKeon, Scott (Rachelle) Frasier, Tim (Sarah) Frasier, Diana and Nate Frasier, Greg Simons, Chelsey Sampier, Tyler (Sara) Sampier, Jazmyn and Robyn Sampier; great grandchildren, Leo and Ellie Russo, Wyatt Stinson, Lacy Remsing, and Reed Duceatt, Kaylee Kowitz, Charles Jesso, Hunter Brown, Brendon, Connor, Kenedy, Colton, and Jackson McKeon, Angel Simons, Robert Sampier, and Caylee Machinski; her ex-husband, Aubrey Stockwell; siblings, Walt (Linda) Haydett, Betty (Jake) Jacobs, and Jeanette (James Mike) Booth; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lee (Barbara) Haydett. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. , 20, 2017 in the Marysville with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Reverend Alan Kozlow of Algonac Baptist Church will officiate.
