Obituary: Phillip M. Sullivan, 77, of South Orleans, MA passed away May 2, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn (Ellison) Sullivan, his son, Phillip M. Sullivan, Jr. of Newton, MA, his daughter and son in law Andrea J. Sullivan and Thomas Salomone, three grandchildren, Briana, Thomas and Alexandra Salomone, all of North Brunswick, NJ, a sister and brother in law, Briana and Garland (Bud) Gray of Danvers, MA, a brother Robert G. Sullivan, of Carson City, NV, sisters and brothers in law Elinor and Jack ONeil of Boca Raton, FL, Robert and Ann Marie Ellison of Orange, MA and Clare Ellison of Naples, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents William J. and Eleanor R. Sullivan, and his brothers, William, Michael and Richard Sullivan. Phil graduated from St. Johns Prep in1950 and received his bachelors degree from Salem Teachers in 1954. He subsequently earned his M.B.A. from Boston University. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1958 where he retired with the rank of Captain. He was honored with a Letter of Appreciation and the National Defense Service Medal Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps, Phil began his thirty year career with the First National Bank of Boston from which he retired as Senior Vice President in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions. During his tenure at the Bank, he served as interim President and Director of 16 subsidiary banks throughout New England. Throughout his impressive career, he earned many honors. He was named to Whos Who in Banking (1967); elected one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men in Boston, (1969); appointed Chairman of the Governors Task Force on Public Financing of the Arts and Humanities in Massachusetts (1979-81); nominated by Governor Edward J. King to be a founding Trustee of the Massachusetts of Art when higher education was reorganized in 1981; he was reappointed by Governor Michael S. Dukakis and served seven years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees; and was a Founder, Director and Treasurer of the International Society of Appraisers (Chicago), the nations largest personal property appraisal group. In 2004, he was awarded the Salem State Distinguished Alumnus Award. Phil was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Feehan General Assembly 009401, where he has served as Faithful Navigator and Faithful Admiral. He also has been an active member of the Marine Corps League, where he has served as an officer at the local and statewide levels. In 2008, he received a Certificate of Appreciation for his service as Adjutant, Cape & Islands Detachment 955 and the Meritorious Commendation award. In 2009, he received the Distinguished Citizen award from the Department of Massachusetts. He is also one of the preeminent collectors of Buffalo Pottery and speaker at many pottery and willow ware conventions. He has authored several price guides on Buffalo Pottery and willow ware. His collection of willow ware was the subject of an article in Forbes Magazine, May 1994 and Warmans Collectibles, 1999. Since 1990 he has been a member of the Rushlight Club, Americas largest group devoted exclusively to the study of early historic lighting devices.. He served two terms as President and member of the Board of Governors. His personal collection of nautical lighting has been acclaimed as the finest in the country. Obituary: Peter A. Pete Sullivan, Jr. died unexpectedly at his residence on , 2, 2014. He was the loving companion of Donna Ferreira. Donna and Pete shared many wonderful times traveling and enjoying all of their combined granddaughters. Peter spent much of his free time traveling to New Hampshire to spend time with his family. His granddaughters Sophie and Kelsey were the light of his life. Born in Fall River on 23, 1947, son of the late Peter A. Sullivan, Sr. and the late Margaret Mary (Winn) Sullivan. He resided in both Fall River and Somerset, MA. Pete was a 1965 graduate of B. M.C. Durfee High School. He continued his education and received an associates degree in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University. Peter served his country by joining the Navy during the Vietnam Era having served on the USS Gearing DD 710 in the Mediterranean, Cuba and Greece. He was employed as the manager of Extra Space Storage in Milton, MA and had previously worked at Bradlees. Survivors include his son, Jeffrey P. Sullivan and his wife Gwendolyn of Hopkinton, N.H., two sisters, Margaret A. Peggy Guinen and Nancy J. Sullivan both of Fall River, MA, his granddaughters, Sophie and Kelsey Sullivan and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1905. Obituary: Waltham – Mrs. Peggy Ann (Brayne) Sullivan, of Waltham, died , 21, 2015 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 86. Peggy Ann was born in Waltham on 23, 1929, a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Margaret (Hart) Brayne, and had been a lifelong resident. She graduated from Saint Marys High School in Waltham in 1946 and after that went to work as a stenographer for Hood Rubber . On May 24, 1952 she married David M. Sullivan at Saint Marys and the couple made their home in Waltham where they raised their family. had twenty-nine happy years together until Daves sudden death on 14, 1981. Peggy Ann was an energetic and faithful member of the community throughout her life. She devoted her life to service, especially in her work at Saint Marys Church and at the Stigmatines Espousal in Waltham. There, she coordinated retreats and various events and was also a regular Eucharistic minister during Mass. She had also been a longtime member of the Legion of Mary. In 1979 she began working as a secretary at the Gaebler Childrens in Waltham. She remained there until retiring in 1991. Never skipping a beat, she kept busy in her later years by acting as the primary organizer for trips, bingo, and cards with her senior group. She leaves her children, Michael D. Sullivan of Waltham, Colleen M. ODonnell and her husband, Paul, of Concord, Sheila M. Clifford and her husband, Lawrence, of Waltham, Shauna M. Chamberlain of Natick, Mary Ann Higgins and her husband, Robert, of Waltham, Maureen A. Falzone and her husband, Pasquale, of Ashland, Deidre A. Costa and her husband, David, of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Joseph P. Sullivan and his wife, Kelly, of Watertown; her grandchildren, Regan ODonnell, Kristen Beevers, Shaun and Ryan Clifford, Ian and Megan Chamberlain, Darcy DeLosa, Andrea, Nathan, and Kenton Higgins, Michael and Helen Falzone, Kaitlyn Bruce, Maddie Chambers, David and Joseph Costa, and Bridget Sullivan; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Peggy Ann was also the mother of the late Moira A. Chambers and a sister of the late Abigail Swensen, Dorothy Carolyn Hylander and Constance Brown. Family and friends will honor and remember Peggy Anns life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce , 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on , 24th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on morning before leaving in procession to Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary , Waltham.
