Obituary: GRAFTON / WORCESTER – Roland J. Sabourin, 87, of Worcester, formerly of South Grafton and Sebastian, FL, passed away on , 26, 2013. He passed peacefully with the comfort of his family. He was born 25, 1925 in Grafton, the son of Alfred and Federa (Noel) Sabourin. He attended Grafton High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a carpenter for Interstate Construction; building many homes in the Grafton area. For many years he ran his own business, General Contractors, and also worked in the maintenance departments for the Town of Grafton, the Antiquarian Society, Worcester Craft , and at Marlboro Hospital, from which he retired. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was very adept at fixing and repairing anything. He enjoyed restoring antiques, gardening, coin collecting, doing yard work, being with his family, wintering in Florida, and following the Patriots. His beloved wife of 66 years, Carrie Lee, passed away in 2012. He leaves his two sons, Roland and his wife Kathleen of Sutton and David and his wife Kim of Holden, his grandsons Daniel and his wife Jessica of Worcester, Matthew of Sutton, Andrew and his girlfriend Kathryn Allard of Douglas, and Jeffrey of Holden, and one great-granddaughter, Catarina. He also leaves his sister Cecile Malnati of Hopedale, his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Patton and Virginia Beer of Richmond, VA and Frances French of Mechanicsville, VA, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Leo Sabourin. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. She passed peacefully with the comfort of her family. She was born 19, 1925 in Midlothian, VA, the daughter of Atwood and Rosa (Mundy) Durrette. She was a graduate of Midlothian High School, where she was president of her class and a member of the basketball team. She worked for the US Postal Service for more than 30 years, retiring as the Postmaster of the Wilkinsonville Post Office in Sutton. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and friend. She was an accomplished cook, who loved gardening, helping friends, being with her family, wintering in Florida, baking cookies for everyone, and following local sports teams, especially the Red Sox. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Roland J. Sabourin, her two sons, Roland and his wife Kathleen of Sutton and David and his wife Kim of Holden, her grandsons Daniel and his wife Jessica of Worcester, Matthew of Sutton, Andrew and his girl- friend Kathryn Allard of Douglas, and Jeffrey of Holden, and one great-granddaughter, Catarina. She also leaves her sisters, Elizabeth Patton and Virginia Beer of Richmond, VA, Frances French of Mechanicsville, VA and her sister-in-law, Cecile Malnati of Hopedale, MA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Obituary: MILLBURY – Dennis J. Sabonaitis, 67, died , Oct. 25th in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. His loving wife, Diane V. (Waitkevich) Sabonaitis died in 1989. He leaves two sons, Donald A. Greenwood and his wife Carrie Ann of Sutton and Gregg C. Greenwood of NYC; two daughters, Michelle Gauthier and her fiancée John Bond of Charlton and Denise A. Sabonaitis of Millbury; two sisters, Janice LaPointe and her husband Bernard of North Grafton and Gayle Sabonaitis of Worcester; three grandchildren, Dennis, Jack and Adam Greenwood; nephews and nieces. Dennis owned and operated the former O.T.B. News in Millbury for 25 years, retiring this year. He previously was the manager of the Ivy Café in Worcester. He was a life- long member of the Singletary Rod & Gun Club. His funeral will be held , Oct. 29th from the Mulhane for s, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury.
