Obituary: Doris A. Harris Stanton Doris Ann Harris Stanton, age 83, of Elkton, MD, passed away , 17, 2014. Born in Elkton on 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alfred W. and Lucy McLain Kennedy. Mrs. Stanton had worked at Lenas Sub Shop in Elkton for more than 50 years. She was a member of Elkton United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Ladies Circle, Tele , and visiting area nursing homes. Mrs. Stanton had been an avid bowler. Survivors include her children, William R. Harris, Sr. and wife, Rita, and Judy M. McNeal and husband, Ron, all of Elkton, MD; sons by her second marriage, Tim Stanton and wife, Elaine, Kenny Stanton and wife, Carol, all of Perry, FL, and Dale Stanton and wife, Sue, Elkton, MD; siblings, Edward Kennedy, Fresno, CA, William Kennedy, Sr. and Joan Scott, both of Elkton, MD; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanton was preceded in death by her first husband, James R. Harris; second husband, Clarence Stanton; son, Earl G. Harris; grandson, William R. Harris, Jr.; and siblings, Katherine Coulbourne, Margaret Craig and James Kennedy. service will be held at 11 a.m., , 20, 2014, at Hicks for s, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, or to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home. |
