Obituary: LEWISTON: Jeannette A. Sirois, 86, of Lewiston passed away on 29, 2015 at St. Mary's D'Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. She was born on 22, 1928 a daughter to the late Louis and Rose (Demers) Poirier. Jeannette married the love of her life, Adrien Sirois and together they raised two children until his passing in 1980. Jeannette loved doing crafts, sewing and making things for people. She was always caring for friends and family. Jeannette and Adrien were always willing to take someone in to help them out. She loved to dance, travel and spend time with her family. She went to school locally and owned and operated a restaurant for six years on Lincoln St. called Doris' Lunch. Jeannette spent ten years in Alaska taking care of her only sister until her passing and then stayed there to help the family. She moved back to Lewiston to be near her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Monique Johnson and her husband Guy and Henry Sirios and his wife Debra. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren; Eric and Jermiah Johnson and Nina and Justin Sirois, two great-grandchildren; Caleb Duff and Gabriella Cooper, whom she loves dearly, a brother, Henry Poirier and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Adrien, four brothers; Louis, Leo, Chuck, and Mike and one sister, Yvonne Hill. The family wishes to thank the staff on 4E at D'Youville Pavilion and Hospice for their care and comfort during her last few days. In lieu of flowers, please have a mass said in her honor. |

Obituary: Auburn - Gloria Marie Sirois, age 87, formerly of Roxbury Pond, passed away on May 6, 2015 at the Odd Fellows in Auburn following a brief illness. She was born in Van Buren, Maine on 9, 1927 a daughter of Fidele and Genevieve (Lajoie) Marquis. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Gloria enjoyed gardening, oil painting, crossword puzzles, reading, walking, and camping in Freeport. Surviving are her children, Linda Whitmore of Lewiston, Catherine Lemay and husband Robert of Lewiston, Lawrence Gilman of Burns, Wyoming, and Daniel S. Obituary: Edmond Bonhomme L. Sirois, 81, of Veazie, passed away 20, 2014 after a six month battle due to complications from cancer surgery. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He was born 9, 1933 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Wilfred Sirois and Bernadette Lessard. Edmond graduated from Skowhegan High School in the class of 1951. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1956. In that year he enlisted into the United States Air Force, and was stationed at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, Maine where all three of his children were born. During his military career he was stationed in Tripoli, Libya, on Wheelus Air Force Base, Otis Air Force Base in Cape Cod, MA, on CCK Base in Taiwan, and on Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA. In 1974 he retired from the Air Force after 22 years in the military and returned to Maine. Upon his return he entered in to the physicians assistant program at Dartmouth in 1974. He completed his studies in 1975, becoming among the first licensed physicians assistants in the country. From that point forward Edmond worked for Eastern Maine Medical in Bangor in their residency program. He taught young doctors from the early 1980s until his retirement in 1995. Spending time with his grandchildren was a priority for him. He made a special effort to attend every event of theirs. Edmond was a sports enthusiast. He especially loved the Red Sox and was an avid fan of the University of Maine Black Bears. When he was in high school he was a star pitcher and tried out for the Boston Braves (his knuckle ball was his specialty). He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 61 years of Veazie, his three children; Janeen Summers and her partner Peter Henderson of Richmond, Michael Sirois and his wife Susanne of Portsmouth, NH, Theresa Bridges and her husband Dexter of Belgrade Lakes, his seven grandchildren; Haley Goodine and her husband Shawn of Dedham, Tana Sirois of New York City, Ashley Decker and her husband Stephen of New Sharon, Shyla Williams and her husband Johnston of Spring Creek, PA, Joshua Edmond Bridges, Cherish Bridges, Caleb Bridges all of Belgrade Lakes, one great grandson, Jacob Michael Decker of New Sharon, one brother Jerome Sirois of Norridgewock, sister and brother in-laws, Carol Belanger and her husband Roland of Skowhegan, Fe Jones of Mercer, Philip Jones and his wife Glenice of Madison and Dale Jones and his wife Patty of Norridgewock, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers; Danny, Armand, and Abel Sirois, one sister; Dolores Tarascio. Words cannot express the emptiness we feel not having him with us. We will cling to the memories until we meet again. Visiting hours will be held on 25, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards , 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water St., Skowhegan, Maine, with his burial to follow at the Calvary in Skowhegan, Maine.
