Obituary: A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12) We will all miss his sarcastic sense of humor and that distinct raspy laugh. He could make anyone laugh at any given moment. He was always good for a joke. He loved his God and lived in a way that it was obvious. He was the coolest old hippie youd ever be lucky enough to meet. He went to be with the Lord today at 4:10pm, on , 20, 2015, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 64 years old. Richard was a Deacon with Brownfields Baptist Church, the former Commander of the Awana Ministry, an avid LSU Fan and U.S Navy veteran, who proudly served his country during Vietnam. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 27 years, Brenda Wales Singletary; sister, Deborah Craft; daughter, Carrie Ann Palmer; two stepsons, Kevin D. Eubanks and wife Kimberly, Kurt D. Eubanks; four grandchildren, Laura Palmer, Paige Porter, HarLeigh Bailey, Paige Bailey, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews who fondly called him Uncle Walter, and other family members and friends. Visitation will be held at Brownfields Baptist Church, 11998 Plank Rd Baton Rouge, on , 22, 2015, from 5pm until 9pm. Visiting continues at the church on , 23, 2015, from 10am until Celebration of Life Service at 2pm, conducted by Pastor Steve Bridges. Burial will follow in Wales , in Chipola, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Dee Singletary and Hazel Lee Sam Hausey; sister, Sharon Munn; brother-in-law, Scott Craft; and his favorite in laws, Margie and Jerry Martin. Obituary: Robert Bob Henry Singler Shreveport, LA Robert Bob Henry Singler, 84 years old, passed away on , 15, 2017. Services will be held at Grawood Baptist Church on , 20, 2017, 10:00 AM with burial following at Centuries Memorial Park on Mansfield Rd. Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial from 5 until 7 PM on , 19, 2017. Officiating the service will be Brother Chris Willcutt. Born 26, 1932 to Edward and Page Singler of Junction City, Kentucky. He was a proud Kentuckian. Joining the Air Force brought him to BAFB where he planted roots and became a proud southerner. It was in Bossier City, as a young man in the Air Force, where he met the woman he loved and devoted his life to for 64 years. He married Billie Sue Morgan on 26, 1952. . During his life, He owned and operated Cities Service Corp. on Jewella Ave. in Shreveport. He joined the Shreveport Police Department in 1966 and worked his way up to the rank of Lieutenant, also working as a security officer at Pierremont Mall for 20 years. He has been an active loan officer for the Shreveport Police Federal Credit Union since 1982, where he has held a position on the Board of Directors. He retired from the Shreveport Police Department in 1990. retiring, he worked as security officer for the highland hospital for 15 years. He was a member of Grawood Baptist Church where he served on the counting committee. He enjoyed playing basketball as a young man, and flying his fathers airplane; sometimes, without permission. In his adult life he enjoyed bowling where he bowled many perfect games in league competition. He enjoyed playing baseball for the church league at the Baptist Ballpark. He learned the game of golf late in life and became an excellent golfer. He loved playing golf with his late friend and neighbor Bill Bragg. He was a carpenter and builder and built many homes with his late friend Bill Reynolds in South Bossier. He loved to work on cars and was an excellent mechanic. He took pride in keeping his yard looking immaculate. He was a man of many talents; he could build anything and fix anything. What brought him the greatest joy was traveling the country in his beloved motor home with Billie and his dog Red. He was a member of Good Sam Club, Family Motor Coach Club, Holiday Ramblers, Pelican Travelers and Avion Club. He was quiet in nature and strong in character, morals and truth. He was a loving devoted husband, father and PaPaw. He was diagnosed with cancer in of 2013 and was told you only have about 6 months. He fought a courageous battle with amazing strength. We thank our Lord and savior who gave us three more years to enjoy his dry wit, his quietness and his strength. A special thanks to our beloved Dr. V who named him ough old bird. We like to thank Lifepath Hospice, Susie and Juanita. He truly fought the good fight. He is survived by his wife Billie; Children, Jackie, Sharon and Mark; Son-in-law, Bill Hawkins, Daughter-in-law, Amy Singler; Grandchildren, Angela and Chris Von Zynda, Ashley and Shaun Pendleton, Amy and Brian Gamber, Sabrina Singler, Emily, Ben Lambert. Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Riley Von Zynda, Briley, Wyatt Pendleton, and Conrad Gaber; sister, Anne Douglas and several nieces and nephews.
