Obituary: E. Nicholas Sauer, 65, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away peacefully at home on , 03, 2012, after a long illness. He was born 26, 1946, in New Albany, IN. Nick was a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan , worked as a respiratory therapist for many years, and as custodian of the F.O.E 4168 for 20 years. He loved to travel and to be of service to others. He was an Army veteran, a charter member of F.O.E 4168, served on the C.P.G, the Governors Advisory Council for HIV/AIDS, was a founder of the Owensboro Area HIV/AIDS Task Force, Inc., participated in many productions on and off stage with the Theatre Workshop of Owensboro, and was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sauer; step-father, Vernard A. Glotzbach; and two Glotzbach step-brothers. Survivors include his life partner of 37 years, Robbie Stone; his mother, Pauline Glotzbach; sister, Joan Sauer both of New Albany, IN; brother, Tom Sauer and his wife Jane and niece, Leslie Sauer all of Magnolia Springs, AL; niece, Erika Moorman and her husband Luke and great-nephew, Thomas Moorman all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; step-brother, Joe Sauer of Georgetown, IN; aunt, Dorothy Daming Patten of Evansville, IN; numerous Glotzbach step-brothers and sisters; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. on in the chapel of Glenn and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on and after 9 a.m. on at the funeral home. Obituary: James Alan Sauer, family and renaissance man, passed away at the age of 46 in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born in Owensboro, James Alan graduated from Apollo High School in 1987 and attended Western Kentucky University, Owensboro Community and Technical , and ITT. Simply put, James Alan could do anything. He was devoted to his family with his first priority being a committed part of their lives. From coaching T-ball and softball to attending cheer leading and gymnastic competitions, if his family was involved, James Alan was there. He was the office manager of Houston Agricultural Flying Service and a certified aviation mechanic. He had driven semi-trucks for a number of companies including Brewco Racing. His enthusiasm for tractor pulls took him across the country. He was a partner in Pro-Creations of Kentucky, builders and restorers of pedal tractors. James Alan was an enthusiastic cook, well known for his spaghetti, steaks, pork shoulder and fried turkey. He had operated hydroponic tobacco greenhouses and his love of boating ranged from being on the river with his family to building the hydroplane for the Owensboro Area Museum. James Alan was preceded in death by his grandfathers Harford Ranson and F. Presley Sauer. Survivors include his wife Christy Minton Sauer, whom he began dating at the age of 14 and married when they were 20; his daughters Linzy Sauer and Lexy Sauer, both of Owensboro; his parents Sharon and Presley Sauer of Owensboro; his brother, John Andrew Sauer and his wife Nicole, of Bowling Green; his grandmothers, Emma Ranson and Rebecca Duncan, both of Owensboro; his mother and father in law Tony and Sarah J. Minton of Owensboro; his nieces, Kathlyn Sauer, Elizabeth Sauer, and Virginia Sauer, all of Bowling Green; his great-aunt Elva Ranson of Owensboro; and his anticipated grandson Jay Tyler Alan. The funeral service for James Alan, officiated by Rev. Peggy Smith, will be 11:00 a.m. at St. John United Methodist Church. Obituary: James H. Sauer, 95, of 730 Devonshire Drive, Owensboro, died , 4, 2002 at Episcopal Church in Louisville. He was born in Daviess , Kentucky on May 16, 1907 the son of Henry and Jessie Worthington Sauer. Mr. Sauer retired from the U. S. Army after 22 years where he served with the 33rd Infantry in the Panama Canal Zone, and the 77th Field Artillery & Field Artillery School at Ft. Sill, OK. He also served with the 20th Armor Division in E. T. O. and two years with Alaskan Command on Adak Island, Alaska. He retired as Post Transportation Office, Erie Ordnance Depot, LaCarn, Ohio on Feb. 28, 1950. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Woodlawn United Methodist Mens Club & Woodlawn Senior Citizens. Mrs. Sauer was a self-employed beautician in the Utica and Owensboro areas for many years, and a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Massilon and Carrie DeMoss, four brothers; Buel DeMoss, Calvin DeMoss, Mark DeMoss, and Pete DeMoss, and four sisters; Delila Stiles, Lola Braden, Jessie Durbin, and Allie Gist, and her husband, James H. Obituary: Agnes Marie Sauer, 91, of Owensboro passed away on , 2, 2013 at Wellington Parc. She was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late William Taft and Ora Price Gamble. As a young lady during WW II, Agnes helped the war effort by working in a munitions plant in Nashville, Tennessee. She went on to work at General Electric here in Owensboro and then spent many years working as the bookkeeper for the family business, M & P Auto Parts. She was a former member of Seven Hills Baptist Church and had attended Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Agnes enjoyed word search and jig saw puzzles, knitting and bird watching. She was also a great cook. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, E. Paul Sauer in 1993; a daughter, Betty Jean BeGe Sauer Robinson; a grandson, James Michael Smith; a sister, Opal Davenport; and brothers, Raymond Edward Gamble and Paul Gamble. She is survived by daughters, Peggy Sauer Williams (Tom) of Owensboro and Mary Lou Ma Lou Smith of Alabama; the second love of her life, D.J. Clark of Owensboro; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Gamble Nixon of Tennessee; brothers Douglas Gamble (Joanne) of Michigan and John Davis of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at Noon on , 4 at Glenn and Crematory. Dr. James Wedding and Dr. T.A. Prickett will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
