Obituary: Kevin D. Surber Tiffin, Iowa Kevin D. Surber, 65, passed away on , May 20, 2016 at his home in Tiffin. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. May 26, 2016 at McLarens Chapel with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Resthaven in West Des Moines. Kevin was born 1, 1950 in Des Moines, IA to Stanley and Opal (Rees) Surber. He was an Electrical Engineer for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and a member of the Iowa City Masonic Lodge #4. Kevin enjoyed spending time outdoors, skiing and had a love for computers and science. Kevin graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines and attended the University of Iowa for his engineering career. He served honorably in the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany. Kevin was a very proud man and loved spending time with his family. Kevin is survived by his son, Ryan Surber of Tiffin; daughter, Megan (Joshua) Surber of Tahlequah, OK; grandchildren, Alivia and Noah Surber of Tahlequah, OK; mother, Opal McNitt of West Des Moines; and sister, Cheryl (Glen) Jesse of Mitchellville. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Surber. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. |
